  1. Yes its a little bowed, due to the plastic holders not really made for it, but its held in place by the force of the size and that the sheet is pressed down into the substrate, nothing"holding " it there but its very sturdy.
  2. hi Its basicly just a plastic sheet with lots of fine holes. i got this one from Animalz's Mirimar, but the side peices were missing so i had to get some stuff from Mitre 10 and addapt it, seems to work well they did have some complete but smaller ones left.
  3. the holes are very tiny, but still allow water flow Is that ok ?
  4. Hi Phillz I had the same probem a week or so back and found some good answers like red rainbow fish or just stright boesiman Rainbow they grow to a nice size and change colour amost each time you look at them
  5. Hi Everyone My kribs dug themselves a cave under the driftwood in my 25 gallon tank about 10 days ago, the female is hardly ever out of the cave and it must be pretty roomy in there because the male can fit in too, Whats driving me crazy is the waiting, they MUST have layed eggs, they MUST have hatched by now, so it should be any time now they bring the fry out for a look around. This tank was shared with my wifes guppies , i gave a lot of thought to moving either the kribs after the babies were free swimming or moving the guppies now, after reading a lot i decided the kribs would eat the babies if moved them. The wife would kill me if her guppies died...neither good So i've installed a tank devider, both still in same tank same conditions, neither can get to the other, are these things as good an idea as they seem ?

  8. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, She was a beuitiful fish ..
  9. its a fair size , 4cm maybe a little more, no sign of a sword. It has had a dark spot ( gravid spot) in the past but never carried thru to any fry.
  10. it would cost me more to drive up to return it than i paid for the fish
  11. Ok While I'm feeling silly i might as well do this one too, Please let me know what this one is, i bought it as a female Swordtail, http://groups.msn.com/billaneyphotos/fi ... PhotoID=29 Thanks

  13. Thanks Guys Somehow i had a feeling about this , The Levin Petworld sold it to me along with a large sailfin Molly as its "breeding" partner at $15, Boy was i ripped off !!!
  14. Hi Guy's We were sold this fish as a female molly, but something tells me it might be a platy or even a swordtail what do you all think. http://groups.msn.com/billaneyphotos/fi ... PhotoID=28 Sorry can't get the picture to load here but theres the link. Your opinions will be greatfully appreciated.
  15. Hi Everyone I have just put a new largeish sailfin molly pair in my community tank andshe is fine but he is chasing everything in sight !! does not seem to matter if its another molly or swordtail or rainbow fish, he rubs up or tries to nip them, an intersting not when he was in our holding tank with two large Gouramis he was a wimp , just cuddled up to the pair of them. Whats going on ? Will he settle down or should we do something ?

  19. Looks like maybe she did eat the eggs Still no sign of a family outin for the Kribs . Hope for more luck with the next batch. Still hold out a little hope for this batch.
  20. Hi Shae Very sorry to hear about you killies :-( Wish i could help with replacements but i don't have any either.
  21. Well all the eggs are gone from the side of the pump , I'm hoping they have moved them or, which i think is more likely, they may have hatched and are wriggling behind the pump where the mom seems to be all the time. I can't see back there so thats my hope , it seems consistant with what i've read so i now have a 4-5 day wait to see if I'm right, fingers crossed
  22. hi The only bare bottom tank we have is the one with the guppy fry in it. Why do we need a bare bottom tank for microworms? pardon my ignorance ?
  23. Mother is keeping a close eye on the eggs , fanning them from time to time and father is mading sure the area around is safe ( would be the easy part as there alone in the tank) All the eggs seem to still be in the same place , i had read they sometimes move them around but not yet. She seems to be digging a pit behind the pump, i think this is where the babys will go after they hatch but before they can swim. so all looking good so far
  24. Hi My Kribs are laying eggs!! On the side of the pump...what do I do now?? From what I remember they are good parents right ?, should I just leave them or take them out if so , both or just one and which , sorry to throw this out like this but I have never had egg layers before and would love to see them hatch. A little detail: They are in a tank by themselves, (isolated them because they were being aggressive, I now know why, The pump sees quite powerful, a strongish current but they seem to like it, is that ok for the eggs? All help greatly appreciated. Paul BTW, i have pictures and video of them laying
  25. Hi Everyone Does anyone know of a chart / book showing the differant types ( tail, colour / finage / patten ) of guppies, i'd like to get something like this as a referance as my wife wants to get more into guppies. Thanks
