  1. Probably a good enough reason Shea: lol: lol: the first batch are now 27 days old and the new batch just showed today , and wow is there a difference in size, I knew they were growing quickly but until you have something to compare your never sure how much. Can't wait till the first batch are young adults , then I'll be looking to sell a few to pay for my expenses.
  2. Hi Just popped up to feed the kribs and wow more babies !! not sure on numbers yet but judgeing by the cloud of fry i'd say as many if not more than last time (113) so I'm so proud of mom & Dad they are just awesome parents and my two favourite fish!
  3. Just my luck Caryl ,i was on the edge of my seat waiting for my first ever copy too ...  its ok , it will be all the sweeter when it arrives
  4. i got some fish from Napier before christmas , just in a starafoam (spelling) box, paper to keep them steady and plenty of air in the bags , took me 6 hours and they were fine.
  5. Hi I'm thinking of taking a trip to Auckland at easter and would like to know from the locals which fish shops are the best, say top 5-6 to visit. Also i have heard there is a good one in Rotarua, anyone know that one ? I'll be looking for fresher water not marine. Thanks

  7. Hi I am thinking of going away with the family for a week ,maybe in March/April if I'm traveling up around the north Island and want to buy fish if we see anything we really like, what can i get or do to keep them happy and alive traveling for a week. Is there a portable tank or sum such thing you can buy or hire ? Thanks
  8. Way to go TS, They are awesme fish to watch, mine are now 3 weeks old today and doing fine . I seperated most of the 113 babys at the 2 week stage and both lots are happy healthy and growing , did this because was told/read Mam & Dad would eat the young when they wanted to spawn again . There building a new cave as we speak Congrates , there fun to watch grow.
  9. Hi Dawn From what i can recall,( only seen them once) and judgeing by the D-fin one is male one is female. Thanks
  10. Can someone explain this for me? We have seen a pair of Gouramis we like, they were bought by the present owner a while back as pearl gouramis and apparently looked just as you would expect but now to me they have no pearl markings in fact the markings are of a opaline Gourami but they are a dull grey/brown colournot blue. Can this be a cross or another type of Gourami I’m not familiar with? Sorry I’m unable to supply a pic

  19. Hi I was wondering if there is anyone going the the meeting tomorrow night who might be able to give/sell me a microworm culture ? I have had one and tried a couple of times now to grow another and have either put too much yeast or made it too runny or something but I'm haveing no joy growing my own and am almost out, my kribs love it and i would really like some. if so a hugh THANK YOU. Paul
  20. Hi Guy Is this wednesday the meeting for the Kapimana Club, if so when and where ? We'd really love to come and join, am i also correct to think its $20 joining , is that each or per family ? Thanks
  21. Question : with my Danio fry feeding off the green water and microworms, it seemed silly to me to have a filter going cleaning the green water out then keep adding more green water so i have turned the filter off , IS THIS OK ? they seem so small i'm also scared they would just get sucked into the filter no matter what i tried to cover the intact with. the tank is now starting to look dirty but since that is what there feeding on i don't know if this a good or bad thing , your thoughts would be a great help.
  22. Hi alan Myabe we are getting the feel for thgis as we did move the parents into another tank , just left 6 babies with them so they keep the parenting feeling but put the rest into there own tank
