    Peacock Fry

It gets to a point where enough is enough. I have ten different type of peacocks which are each spitting out 50-60 fry a month. From now on ive decided to put all my fry into one big six footer and let them all grow together till i can seperate males from females. Then sell the males. These fish just wont stop breeding Thought about separating males/females but thats another bunch of tanks.
  3. Hi Where do you get prazi from? ta
  4. Heaps came thru as Giraffes which where Fuscos. They get pretty big. Yours look awesome firenzenz! That one in front looks to me as a livingstoni. Have six at mo which are getting along well. A. had hundreds for sale about 5-6 months ago.
  5. Hi. Got mine in the last shipment about 2 months ago and they are pretty cool. Light blue with pure red tops. Two females holding as well so fingers crossed that they go term
  6. Hi Any dates set and venues? Once in a life time thing and all.
  7. Iam using a existing tank i had in storage for awhile with cabinet so cant add sump. Happy to use external filters. Mainly want the UGF for large rock support in back right corner so thought i'd 'kill two birds with one stone' as the saying goes. the rest of the tank will be gravel. Thought when the tank needs a clean the less rock to move the less chance of accidents hence UGF system as well.

    BN and GBA.

They will do. Most BN arent pure. They have been crossed.
  9. Thanks guys. Will consider all options
  10. Yeah, but all the crap settles below the rocks. The idea is the remove all the waste and protect the glass from large rocks
  11. Iam sure this is the stuff my brother tried to get in but the cost was to high. Customs/Maf/Freight, just not worth it. Then trying to sell the stuff!! Not good. I reacon just feed your fish a varied diet including cocktale shrimps and peas blended together works fine. And now that summer is here ( joke) why not get a shallow tank, place it outside in direct sunlight. Place alot of small rocks inside and fill with water just above rock level. Let the lovely green algae grow and then feed your beloved cichlids. They love it and its awesome watching the Mbuna graze on it.
  12. Hi looking at setting up a six foot tank for males only. Been thinking about placing an undergravel filter over 70% of the tank and calcite over glass for the rest. Small river rock pebbles will be placed over the UGF and then large river rocks over the pebbles to stop the cichlids from digging around except around the calcite. Two large external filters will be connected to the UGF uplets to remove the waste which will go directly to the external filter. ANY THOUGHTS PLEASE

My Hans.B have dark blue bodies with the dark red shoulder. blue head and fins. All my females are dark brown with blue spots on fins. Ryan, are the fish the same colour as the photos or darker.? Most hans.B females ive seen on the net are dark in colour not silver. They are nice fish. Good body shape.
  14. Hi Evil Got my Yellows and Demasoni in a five foot tank with rock work and they are doing very well. You right as the colour mix is pretty awesome esp with white sand

Hi As Ryan said! The ones I sold to Richard are A.Jocobs (breed from parents that I purchased from brooklands as A.jocobs) Have breed my A.B's (same name as the new rugby World Cup holders ) but have never sold any fry. Thanks guys for the comments concerning A.B. Hope to breed lot more so I can get the strain out there in case something happens to mine. Have also purchased the lastest A.B's but to my dissappointment they do not resemble my original A.B. (HOUSED IN SEPARATE TANKS)

Sorry to dissappoint but no i didnt get them mixed up and I know what they are. My A.Baenschi are diff from the latest import as well. My males are totally bright yellow all over the body with a blue chin. slight blue spots on the tail but otherwise sold yellow. Came thru brooklands as Baenschi about 6 years ago.

Will try to get a pic of the male. The female passed away last year. I have some Aulunocara Baenschi as well but are totally different compared to the A. Jacobs. My A.Baenschi male is yellow all over with a little blue across the face. Not the same looking A.B as the recent import and pics listed on site. Got him about 5-6 years ago from Brooklands.

Hi This is NOT an Aulunocara baenschi. How do I know; because I sold them to Richard. I purchased my breeding group a couple of years ago from brooklands as Aulonocara jacobfreibergi In Richards defence he did try to get hold of me but lost cell phone reception when heading back from a job in Wellsford I sold two pairs, so hopefully they weren't mixed in with any other peacocks
  21. Got pics of both but havent sorted out how to upload yet. One day I'll make a effect. Both where and are in 4 foot tanks and alls well.(fingers crossed)
  22. They not to nasty compared to Tropheus. Had 6 of these guys for about 8 years but never got close to breeding them. All past away now. I have 4 six bars now(Neolamprologus sexfasciatus) and have seen eggs inside a cave once but no luck with fry. Will keep trying.
  23. Hi Been around 4 awhile now (5 bar lamps). Last lot I saw HHFF had a few a couple months ago
  24. Thanks frenchy Guess I will keep all fry and grow them up. Trying to fill a six foot tank with male peacocks only so guess these guys will come in handy
