  1. Tropheus

    whats this

hi they are Albino Melanochromis sp. "Auratus". pretty awesome but very aggressive to each other. I had ten and down to 6 in along with about 100 other fish. They just pick each other out. Little buggers
  2. It is a awesome site ah. Wish more people would use it more before purchasing fish as this might stop a few hybribs been sold and breed. :-? Seems to be more and more crap cichlids (hybrids) been sold on trademe
  3. Hi Afrikan I always use http://www.cichlid-forum.com/index.php first for any info. One of the best sites.
  4. Found a link re Dragons http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/s ... hp?id=1315 Oh well, But they still look great just like OB peacocks :-?
  5. Yeah do that and then add one Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus just to add colour (red). Or before adding the Fusco why not just take a photo of a Discus and put that in a tank. It'll be just as active as a real one but saving them lots of money
  6. Got five Dragon bloods the other day and 4 Ruben reds. Pretty cool. Heard that the Dragons are Hybribs. But havent confirmed that yet.
  7. You so right Afrikan. Thats the only way to do it when obtaining peacocks. About time someone has common sense
  8. Tropheus

    id please

Hi Looks like a Melanochromis species but weird how only the front colouring up. My johanni have horizontal lines not vertical like in first few pics.
  9. Awesome OOA. Looks like another trip to CHCH 4 the summer. Nothing much new here. Just the usual Trop.Ikola and Brichardi breeding. Still on the look out 4 a female Tropheus.D WHITE BAND if any one has for sale or trade. Had my Afra hold 4 a few days but then she lost them. Still 2 young. The Cyps still keep teasing me by displaying every day but the female just not interested. Females 4 u
  10. Hi all I am on the look out for either some female Aulonocara baenschi or some one with females that would like to start a new blood line with my male Aulonocara baenschi. I know there is not much around when it comes to Baenschi's but some one must have some. Please pm me. ta mike
  11. Great photo (not) Mine doing good at mo with three females holding.
  12. Like any Julidochromis once they pair off watch the others or else. Unless you have about 50 in a tank which works for me
  13. Hi two good but one 300w should be ok. Ive never had problems with one. Just make sure its not to small as you dont want the heater to go off and on to many times
  14. Where the hell did you see that? Crying out loud what next
  15. try moving 35 tanks in 3 days and i cant wait to do it again soon :-? I can get you some spare tanks and water barralls if you like. Always best just to use the same water, pumps and stone. Just pm me if you want ta Mike
  16. Still like the Johanni but my Albino Melanochromis are looking good. Picked these guys up from CHCH
  17. Can we see a pic of your male chilumba :-?
  18. Ok Then. Lets keep all hybrids. Keep breeding them with other cichlids and the cycle never stops then one day we can start our own lake with unique fish. Great idea. NOT
  19. Return them in a plastic bag with no water and get your money back. Again we have dick heads selling hybrids
  20. Yet again we have dick heads in the hobby that just dont have a idea. Why they just dont stick to knitting i dont know. Might even look like a bit of C.Afra in it.
  21. Hi Good to see you are converted to Malawis and Tangs. There are a few good fish around at moment esp tangs. But be VERY careful about Malawis as i have seen a few HYBRIDS around lately and even though the breeders know they are hybrids they just dont care as long as they can make a quick buck or two. *****THAT JUST F*#KS ME OFF***** Anyway, best bet is to bite the bullet and purchace stock from your LFS and ask first if they are imported. There are good retailers up here in AKLD who supply good fish. OK they might cost more but look at the rewards later down the line.
  22. i got some from a guy in CHCH but lost his details. only got about 4 left. Would love to get some more
  23. Cool about Tropheus.D I had about 40-50 white bands in a 5foot tank but lost all due to pump failure. Would love to start again with them. Would you be interested in swaping some Tropheus brichardi (Kabimba) for some of yours. Have about 20 of these guys now and doing well
  24. Hi .A Those julies are cool ah. Mine just dont give up. Last lot went on Trade Me. Pretty good price to i must say. But i think so to as they cost me a arm and a leg. So in return everyone else should pay the same The Jewel of Nile video is pretty cool. I should dig it out one day with all the other cichlid videos and do something with them. But all packed in boxs till i move.
