  1. should be nice golden colour and translucent, white is normally infertile or fungussed.
  2. I got attacked by one when snorkling out Motiti
  3. congrats, it does seem a bit young, but if they go then good on them I would expect it to be an unsuccessful spawn though as most rams first spawns are either infertile or get eaten

  5. urgh.... centipedes are one of the only animals that I can't stand (theres big scary ones in Aussie) plus it hurts when they bite. what about a bunch of white worms???
  6. they are insectivores so im assuming that grain based food wouldn't be too good for it. I have been told catfood is ok for them though
  7. Rescued a blackbird chick last night as it had been pushed out of the nest by some mynahs and they parents were getting attacked, (and our local cat population is very high) its only about a week or 2 away from fully fledging, and I have got it eating worms out of my fingers. What other foods can I give it safely???? and any other help would be appreciated

    fish mulcher

A group of guys collected the koi after a big flood and sold it as bait, I got my hands on about 2kg of it, best bait ever!!!! tough as mullet and oilier than bonito, snapper love it. they got done big time and shut down after a short time. why not use as fish bait instead of wasted in a mulcher???
  10. it is when you buy 2-5 of them, chuck them in a big barrel and harvest them later, leopard fish are Phalloceros caudimaculata
  11. argh juist found myself not admiring the picture but admiring the patterning on the first and 4th dragon
  12. Very common and cheap (around the $4-6 mark per fish) and LFS should have them in stock during summer they breed in outdoor ponds and tubs (I had some breed in a big pot I had outside) other good option for your axo is leopard fish, just set up a small breeding tank (25L or so should do for a male and a couple of females) next to the axo tank and send the fry to their doom, its not cruel, its just nature with a helping hand holding a net
  13. is the burrowing shrimp you had in that sand bed??? any chance of pic???
  14. just had to check, only 4,157,103 views til the end of the world....
  15. what about a baby naked mole rat??? and dont :smot: it doesn't say cute in the topic.....
  16. looks similar to the one they sell as the aquarium plant " Stardust" there is also a pink variety most LFS's will either stock it or be able to order it.
  17. nice, what species of leather jacket is that, some are specialist feeders and most are highly agressive. btw, is that male a little preggers looking???
  18. have you checked the starter unit???
  19. if using fresh algae, just try and ensure a constant supply, if feeding prepared food, once a day should be ok as long as all the left overs are taken out
