  1. They were in the tank from my pic (see to the left) The food was the same as the pet store, all the other fish were fine, and other fish of the same species from a different supplier have been fine (and still are).
  2. Well, if it dies the next day, it's the new owner. (If it doesn't eat for a week and THEN dies, I blame the LFS :an!gry .) But even the LFS requires a water sample, and details on the acclimatisation process used.
  3. Dropping like flies.... Do I smell? :dunno: wait... Don't answer that...
  4. And risk them getting out? oh no. I'm a no mice kind of guy.
  5. Do they have a cat that they can feed it to? :spop:
  6. Are you getting him a fish? :happy2: Hope you have fun. EDIT: OR HER. Wow, can't believe I assumed...
  7. My big was was found in a handful of java moss. It grew from a plantlet the size of the new ones. Grew much faster than 6months, must have been good lighting :dunno:
  8. Yea, mine are about the size of the one to the left of your fish
  9. Alright, not bad. I'm using the ASB Conversion gadget, 1USD = 1.26240NZD. My one has an NZ plug on it... Regardless, it looks like you found a better deal. What site is it? Hey Crunch, sorry about the batts... I'm stubborn.
  10. US$40 = NZ$50.50 + Freight? Edit: +Currency conversion charges?
  11. I've got some tiny plantlets growing off my ferns on the log. How big do they get before they split? Is it like the Amazon sword where I'm supposed to leave them to fall off by themselves? (My Bad, I didn't know, and cut them :tears: )
  12. Check again Zayne, these are the 5050 SMDs, not the 1210 or 3528s. It's a 300 LED Strip, 5.0m long. These are on trademe for about $120 As for the power supply, I need 12V 6A. Try finding one for $15.
  13. Yes, 120º I'm not entirely sure what the numbers are for each, and I'm not sure how to find out. Colour options: 20 Colors. 8 Light Pattern: Quick / Slow / Auto / Flash / 7 color fade change / 3 color fade change / 7 color jumpy change / 3 color jumpy change. R / G / B increase and decrease control. 8) Waterproof IP68, whatever that means. I'll stick them above my tank, not in it :nilly: Sounds good, but I had enough trouble trying to find a 12v power supply with 6A for under $50.
  14. That's fine. I just thought if we started early enough we might get through everything... we have a tendency to sit and talk we'll just start the talking sooner... :sml1:
  15. Hi Guys, I have just ordered 300 of the 5050 SMD LEDs. These come pre-wired on a 5m roll, which can be separated every 3 LEDs. I got the lot, plus a NZ power supply, for $75 NZ. Anyone used these before? :slfg:
  16. I think Godly was asking about the aquarium equipment from Singapore... :dunno: Can that be imported or will being second hand cause issues at customs?
  17. Glad to hear Freddy is doing better. Sad that you had to pass on the tetras though. I am still surprised that they were aggressive. Mine are laid back and peaceful.
  18. Pop down to your local supermarkets and get the old fish poly boxes. Your saving them getting rid of them, and cut them up with a craft knife (so that you have flat pieces) and tape them to your tanks. Easy cheap insulation (cost of knife, tape, and maybe petrol? to the supermarket). Some people at Woolies may try to sell them to you, come back later when that person's shift has ended
  19. I have my two tanks (245L and 300L), as well as the 42in TV, plus two gaming PCs. Also have a heat pump in the living room. Power bills are normally around $180-$220, and have not changed due to adding the 2x 150W heaters and the 1x 300W heater. Nor have the lights or filters affected the power bill (or not enough to be noticed).
  20. Would have been cool if it was done in time for us all to visit at conference... oh well. I'll just have to make a trip of it.
  21. Nah we have Milo / hot chocolate / Jarrah
  22. Definitely go i7. Have a look at Bond and Bond's retail outlet / ex shop stock store. Good gaming PCs cheap. My wife got a slightly better machine than mine at half the price I paid for mine (I went Dell).
  23. Greetings all! I will be hosting this months meeting at my house, 18A Ngarimu Place, Bayfair. Sunday 15th July. :bounce: Meeting starts at 2pm (ish, I'm not fussy.)
