  1. I can't seem to find any down here whenever I go looking, found some good sized crawlies though.
  2. Cute rabbits, working in a petstore would be great. :smot: but... My partner and my wallet.
  3. I just use old black sheets. Or even a sheet of plastic will do but you would still be better off using sand, since I put my trifasciata in the big tank with sand substrate they seem way happier and show alot better colours.
  4. Oh yes, I am sure that is exactly what he is doing, SCREWING THEM OVER. What a joke and a reason for people not to look at cheaper and more cost effective ways of purchasing a product that is in limited availability here. The reason HFF can charge alot more than overseas is that in NZ our selection of any aquarium related products is rediculously small and they hold the monopoly on NLS range of food as far as I am aware. In this tough economy we all are looking at ways to save money and importing your own food is a great way to do it and is certainly worth it it seems. Especially as we can't import our own stock and plants anymore.
  5. For insurance? I think you think he is talking about power cost, not insurance.

    Hello :)

Hello & welcome, hope you enjoy your time on here and get as much advice as the rest of us!
  7. That is amazing, wish I had a fraction of their talent!
  8. Everything I have read on breeding rams says yes, you should remove her. That is unless you have them in a tank that has alot of places she can go and take refuge?
  9. You have all the luck!! Curious to know the conditions of the water you use in your tanks, is it straight from the tap?

    Table Salt

Not that I have noticed. My father was the one who told me to use it, he bred tropical fish for over 30 years and they always used table salt. Reckons it's a cure all for nearly everything lol. I have heard that bristlenose' are more sensitive to it but mine have all been salt bathed and they're fine.

    Table Salt

I used to regularly use normal table salt and never had any issues with it, seemed to help with whitespot and a few small fungal issues I have had. Even used it with clown loaches and they didn't seem to mind one bit.
  12. I have 2 male pearls and they chase each other constantly, no damage to either of them though and it's not just one sided. They don't bother any of my other fish at all and are quite tame really, both are the first fish to come eat out of my hand. They do grow quite large though mine are only around a year old and already 12cm+ and I have seen even bigger males around 18cm. They're my favourite gourami with their beautiful colours and long spiky fins.
  13. Don't quote me but I think if you soaked it in a bleach/water mix it would sanitize it so you could safely use it again? One of the more experienced people should know if that will work.
  14. Yeah, you can remove him now if you want but best to leave him as long as possible. Easiest way to know if it is time to remove him is when he looks overwhelmed and agitated from having to keep spitting the fallen fry back into the bubblenest.
  15. Cool, have you removed the female?
  16. Are you sure they're gourami fry lol? Gourami fry tend to be tiny in my experience and take a few days to start free swimming, did you see the parents do the "deed"?
  17. It looks really good, I done the same with my tank a little while ago but didn't even think about using dishwashing liquid and water lol, would have made the job a whole lot easier! I have used cooking oil before with really good results to stick the store bought backgrounds on.
  18. I would be keen on any cuttings you decide to sell down the track.
  19. Looking for any more employees lol?
  20. Amazing dude, how did you get the glosso to grow so dense with only 2x 54w T5? Also the riccia looks awesome growing like that!
