  1. Good to hear dude, I have a mate who cuts glass but he just had his first child aswell so he's pretty flat out too. My new tanks going real good finally finished cycling it, now just slowly adding stock to it as I don't wanna overload the filters.
  2. Surely there are many people in Wellington area who will rebuild the tank for you, have you rung around the local glaziers and seen if any of them have any experience with fixing leaking tanks? I would try some of the smaller business' as they will probably charge alot less and might have some advice at the least.
  3. Hi, does anyone know if any of the big insurance companies will cover damage to/from aquariums? Just wondering as I can't seem to get a straight answer from any of their overseas call centre employees
  4. Aha true. Thanks for that LA, I would rather leave it here then for the input. Might start a new thread there when I have finished planting it out and got it the way I want it.
  5. Hey Ian, I wouldn't worry about it until you get them into the bigger tank, that's what will be causing this unwanted aggression. How's that going anyway? Did you get that 300ltr braced?
  6. :rotf: :sml1:  Gotta keep the conversation family friendly though
  7. Only 100pct way to tell dude is when they are spawning, females will have a blunt egg tube and males will be abit pointy looking, heres some good info for you; http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquariu ... hp?t=75528
  8. Unless you can be 100pct sure that there is no other harmful chemicals in the air that it is purifying I wouldn't think it would be good, I have heard of people doing this though.
  9. I'm interested to know aswell, looks like a good idea especially down here when it gets real cold during winter I notice my heaters are running pretty constantly.
  10. Can a mod please move this to the freshwaters members tank forum.
  11. Where did you get them from?
  12. That's exactly what im planning on, though the ambulia I planted is already growing over an inch each day with only the T8 lights, and that's supposed to be a medium light plant. Also the sand is around 5cm think and the tanks not quite full so the light really only needs to penetrate to 50cm at them moment. Don't worry, I will. I really want alot more narrow leaf and windelov java fern to attach to the wood and abit more anubias.
  13. I would venture to say that yes, the pearl would eat and enjoy the shrimp. Pearls prefer being kept at a higher temp then the shrimp can handle anyway.
  14. That is the worst job I have seen from anyone who works with glass and silicone. If I were you I wouldn't pay him a cent, that's just ridiculous.
  15. WOW, that's amazing, one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
  16. Cheers dude, the pictures don't do it justice to what it looks like in person. I will probably do a few more coats of oil once the weather picks up so I don't have to wait as long for it to dry as I did a few weeks ago.
