I have never quarantine my fish, and problems havn't been to bad. I suppose it depends on where you are buying your fish if they come from a good store that has clean tanks it probably isn't necessary, but if the tanks at where you buy fish are dirty it might be good to.

Nice, with out filtration you will have to stock it lightly, maybe if you planted you could have more fish in it?

Haha, if you are willing to post to auckland I would take some (one or two) other then that it sucks that you can't sell/give them away so that they have good lives to live.
