Ouch, worst I have done is grate the tip of a finger off. It was a sharp grater.

Even with price drop I doubt the still wont become cheep like other turtles. Which in some ways is a good thing, as I think turtles are to easy to get for such a dirty, long lived, large growing animal.

Thought I would post it here instead of in the commercial thread. There may be only 3 for sale in nz at the moment, but as they are breeding there will be more of them around at some stage.

Nice, it is always good to see 'new' species coming around. do you have any pictures of the adults for us to see hothouse? Now I wan't to get some, not sure where to get the money from though....

If it can't fit in eithers mouth it should be fine. Careful for the birchir, they have massive mouths for there size.

What about reading it once you had opened it? Also on a serious note, I paid and sent in the email a few days ago, but how long does it take to become a paid member on this site, and be able to access the paid members parts? -

If I was really concerned I would just drain the tank just before some heavy rain predicted then it would full up with fresh water. It is winter you shouldn't run out of water for long if you drain the tank.

Nice tank, what you putting in it? Are you worried that you will see through the tank into your fish room and that would make it look less nice? (i.e. seeinging into the fish room from living area might not look so good.) or do you have some sort of background of somthing else to block from seeing right through the tank? Also you designed your living room facing in the wrong direction, the couches seem to be facing away from the tank, but I am sure that is just a mistake....

Welcome, 10 gallon is about 37l sam. Good luck with your tank if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. Remember there is no such thing as a silly question.

Use cheap fish, and hope for the best, after a few big rains it should all dilute far enough that it wont cause problems.

If you add that to your tank it would be likely that that stuff will kill your bio-filter.

Ok, just watched the new episode of dexter. It didn't seem to be that as good as the other seasons.

Your forfetting that I can jsut bring the hose through the window to full the tank up, and never have any problems. (apart from when I forget about it)
