    Those little balls are lead to weigh it down and transfer heat. The red in the thermometer is alcohol. The red holding the lead and thermometer in place is a hard wax by the looks of it. Mercury is a liquid, so it would have acted like a puddle at the bottom of the water

    They are a brine shrimp. They are a hybrid of two Artemia species. Sea monkeys is a brand. They put salt in the pouch with the eggs.

    What squirt said. For stocking 20L is quite small and limiting, restricts you to smaller fish. What I would do is get 6 Harlequin tetra (either standard or purple) and one honey dwarf gourami. You could get a BN but they get fairly large.

    A dog that barks to say someone it there is great, a dog that barks mindlessly is annoying (I live next to a mindless one). The only dachshund I've encounterd was a nice dog.

    It would depend on the amount of light. The tank light would need to be bright and the room they're in would need to be dark otherwise it wouldn't work.

    what colour? handreared? Great birds, they create Bird soup every day so you have to replace their water every day. Like to bath often, mine loves cashews. http://www.mresource.com/Birds/PERPET.htm a good guide for ringnecks.

    Apparently there are no more imports of dwarf Gourami because MAF is blocking them because of disease.

    Looking at how the light has dispersed in the tank, maybe move the light back a little so all the live rock is lit for when you get the coral.
