  1. Write a caresheet? would be amazing to keep one.
  2. Neat, would like a small one, but they have to be entertained and like to escape. I've read that they don't like Velcro, so you can keep them in with it'
  3. Another non fan of christmas. As for a bed Ira try http://budgetbeds.co.nz/
  4. Another thing that can be used underneath is a layer of neoprene. And the reason I would guess that the glass popped at the corner is because of the added stresses from when they bend the glass.
  5. Hollywood sell them http://www.hollywoodfishfarm.co.nz/detail/view/glass-test-tube-5ml/m/950/
  6. Glass is an insulator, and the electronics inside are fairly simple, so I wouldn't worry about shorts. But if it starts showing fault I would stop using it.
  7. Anyone know where you can easily buy WeldOn or another acrylic cement online or instore?
  8. Active healthy looking fish, doesn't seem to be aggressive towards other fish. $60 Pick up on the north shore or I can deliver it for fuel cost within Auckland region Selling to reduce food competition for my Dragonet
  9. What about using a float switch to turn the pump off when the water level is too low?
  10. Heat to 22 degrees, then once it's almost cycled, start turning the temp down by a degree every couple days. You're still going to need a fairly stable temp around 17 degrees for winter and 20 for summer.
  11. Why don't you heat the tank while it cycles?
  12. It's old tech now, with filters being far better at the job.
  13. Uarujoey on youtube is doing a series on building a plywood tank at the moment.
  14. Could use Feather Caulerpa, (which I'm considering getting some if I can) as a macro algae for the sea horses to grip to.
  15. You replace evaporated water with fresh/pure water. because when the water evaporates, it leaves everything else behind. You will have to add top up water often, as the amount that evaporates is quite a lot more than a fresh water tank. calculating how much water to replace is probably bloody difficult, it's better to add a mark on the outside of the tank to let you know where the water height should be for when you replace the evaporated water. Also, NSW is higher in salinity ~40ppt, so you will have to dilute it with RO/DI water to get to ~35ppt. Used a refractometer to measure this.
  16. If it's sold in NZ it has to work in NZ, so those will be 230V~240V
  17. Maybe you should store the planes in a more space efficient manner, like hang them from the ceiling.
  18. It's where we fool foreigners into thinking gardens are illegal. Deep fried spiders, Fryders, are a delicacy. The Bucket fountain is the pilgrimage everyone must make, and Moa are still alive.
  19. Nothing will stick to Acrylic, the only thing is proper acrylic cement. Silicon is ok as long as there is pretty much no load on the joint, such as holding something in place. But if you want it to hold a load like a fishtank, expect failure.
  20. I don't think that meets my requirements
  21. Totally clear, so I can see the fan worm and pods in it.
