Because you are in Wellington Sarah. For some reason post to that region is slowest. Mind you, Grant got a letter from Christchurch yesterday, dated April 17th! He had complained he did not get the letter he was supposed to have but it finally turned up. No idea where it went in between times - probably Wellington :lol:

Leopardfish, Phalloceros caudomaculatus are lovely little fish. They are coldwater livebearers and very easy to keep. They used to be very common but as fads came and went they seemed to be forgotten in exchange for their more colourful tropical friends.

Were you specifically trying to breed them or just find one in the main tank? How many do you have? Now for the hard part - keeping it (them) alive and growing.

I have BNs, gold zebra loaches and hoplos all together in my tank with no problems.

Latest cards turned up today so magazines of those who paid late (including yours evil) will be posted this afternoon. 8)

There is a time after hatching and before free swimming when the fry will stick together. Increase aeration at this time so all the fry have access to sufficient oxygen. (so says ballistic in an article he wrote for the Aquarium World magazine) Newly hatched brine shrimp are good as first food for fry.

Won't a chiller be needed?

Thanks for that explanation Sarah. I, for one, will not be entering as I do not have any live bearers. :-? Someone did ask me if you had to be a FNZAS member to enter but I wasn't sure of the answer.

They are 'the cheapest I can find' bags from Mr Mono and have no idea whether they are recyclable or biodegradable as it doesn't say anywhere on the plastic wrapping. I make up for the use by using biodegradable cloth-like bags at all other times. The only time I get plastic bags from the supermarket is when I need more to line the rubbish bin with. Evil you will get one - but a bit late. Your capitation has been passed on but I have to wait for your membership card to arrive so I can attach it and send together with the mags. That goes for about 4 others too. I expected them to turn up today but they didn't.

Can't you ask someone else to get them there for you Debza?
