  1. they also don't like stepping on salt
  2. If I find ants in the house I fly spray them and clean them up then use No Bugs spray and spray it along the window sills and door frames. They don't like stepping on it, and it's usually through various cracks or gaps in those areas that I find them getting in. I think that bait stations attract in ants that might not have otherwise been thinking of coming in.
  3. Now we need the rental house version, how to move it from house to house :dnc1: :cophot:
  4. you could do it if you were gentle.... just take a laptop and voila, you can still moderate the board
  5. a small sword ? parviflorus, like the one in my minifish tank down at the front-middle
  6. I like the contrast between the blue background, the sand, the green of the plants and the black of the rocks.

If it were something else I might have wanted that, but this time I wouldn't want them to fix it. This place charges $145 for replacing a CV boot + $20 a day for a loan car but the mechanic I had the other one done at charges for 1 hour labour and was happy for me to supply the part, and loaned me a car for nothing. Also I don't like mechanics who charge a set fee regardless of the time spent, I'd rather pay for what was needed, especially if it took a bit less time.
  8. I'd say the dwarves will chase the clowns and not vice versa :sml2:

I don't know. It could be a good thing or a bad thing, only time will tell. I'm happy to say my 1996 car just passed a warrant. The kindly bloke informed me that one of the CV boots was split and has left me to get it fixed instead of failing it.
  10. it looks like ambulia that hasn't converted to submersed yet

if you like partying, driving drunk and spending lots of money on cafe food....... :slfg:
  12. So.... we had fish and chips at Taste takeaways, walked around town and up Paku Hill and met Edwina the local cat who came all the way up with us. Stayed at Blue Water Motel which was pretty nice. Also visited the ocean beach and the Saturday market at the community centre which had some good home baking by a local aunty. Drove to Hahei, tried to do Cathedral Cove but all the parking was full and I couldn't be stuffed walking from Hahei back up the hill. I'd go back but probably stay at the campsite for cheaper funtimes.

I liked some of it. Tairua was nice, a pleasant little town and I'd go there again. Places I never need to go back to: Pauanui, Whangamata, Whitianga. All the scenery in around the areas were pretty as usual but I find the townships quite sterile and boring. Actually I looked for you because there was a convoy of cars touring the area, and I thought you might have been in that group. I only saw hot rods though, no zippy little mazdas.
  14. Why should a tenant not only be funding your retirement plans, but also looking after your so called pets? :fshi:
  15. If it's soft-soft, in that you can poke your finger into it then it's going to break down fairly quickly and isn't a good idea, but most wet wood you can make cuts in with your fingernail so am not sure this is a good formula, or maybe just needs Godlyevil to explain more. I think that other than that, you can't tell by looking at wood if it's ok to put in the tank or not. Mostly it is ok. If you don't know what sort of wood it is then you can only try it and see. If it's been boiled or rinsed in boiling water and sunk for a few days then it's probably going to be ok. I've used various found woods with various success.
  16. you can dig your fingernail into aquarium bogwood from HFF :bggrn:
  17. is there a way to tell if a wood is suitable by looking at it?

went away for a nice quiet weekend in Coromandel, didn't even spend our budget. Got back to find a letter from the landlord saying rent was going up $20 a week
  19. You could try sending a PM to 'Caserole' and asking about his biggest size of golden pearls, it's very small granulated food, measured in microns. The other thing you could try is to soak it in a little tank water for a few minutes before you feed, then it will have started to break up a bit before they start chomping it.
