  1. and then there's the 'what if the snakes got into the mouse farm' scenario :lar:
  2. baby snakes! do you breed the rats as well?
  3. If the worms escape into the fridge they die quickly by drying out. So it's quite 'safe' as far as keeping bugs in the fridge go. I keep mine on the bottom shelf with the cat food.

    eggs

They aren't rafts, they are individual dots, not stuck together at all. Rather like pores on your nose, if you will.

    eggs

There are some tiny eggs in a bucket of water on my deck and I'm trying to work out what they are. They are laid on the surface, in clusters ranging in size from about 2 x 2mm to 5 x 5 mm. They are black, slightly bigger than bloodworm eggs, and spaced evenly. They're too small to take a photo
  6. He could have done it to himself dashing about like an idiot, as killifish are prone to do. One of my females had a mysterious mishap that looked like she's bumped her nose into something. It eventually healed ok.
  7. Assuming the tank doesn't have other fish that don't like salt - put some salt in the water: 1 tsp per 4 litres, and make sure the tank is getting regular water changes. You might still need to treat to keep the fungus down, but the clean water and salt will help him heal himself.
  8. I'm a customer ... will have to investigate further.
  9. Why would you bring something that wouldn't survive? That's not in the best interest of the pet or the owner.
  10. I turned it off to stop myself becoming an addict and then realised I didn't even check out FNZAS on it :gigl:
  11. They'd eat the dottrels and the kiwi eggs and scare everyone.... :slfg:
  12. Today I bought the 7 inch Samsung and I really like it. For what I want to do with spreadsheets it's good, better than expected. Discovered that Telecom's advert of Free Wifi isn't actually free, of course I should have known that  unless there is more to it. Seems like I can pick up the Wifi of the various neighbours as well as other major networks, which was a surprise.
  13. I think that rock salt is already non-iodised. I use the rock salt that I got from HFF but I think it's all the same. The others will confirm soon no doubt...
  14. thanks. What is the wifi like around uni? Can you hook up to it anywhere? I know it's not everywhere but it is in lots of places.
  15. I rang them already, they only have a display model in stock so if I buy I'll be going to Sylvia Park.
  16. has anyone used the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch? The reviews are both good and irritable, depending on how techy you are. I have pretty simple requirements. do you know if the Nextbook Android 9.7in 4.0 tablet can be used for spreadsheets?
  17. I think I might be ready to buy one Prepare for a new age of technology! :sage:
  18. Blueether, that one is considerably more than I've got to spend... I went to Warehouse Stationery this morning and was looking at the various tablets, including the HP one above from Good Guys (which was $230), and I asked the guy if I could use a spreadsheet on a tablet, and he said no. He said only if it was on the web. So how does that work? If I can open it on the web, or in an app, how do I get it from there back into my spreadsheet? Is it just a copy and paste situation or can I open the same spreadsheet in different formats and have the changes still saved?
  19. This subject is back again... I spent hours this week working on a spreadsheet at various places, making notes and filling in cells. It was made more labourious by the fact that I don't have an electronic note taker so I had to scribble on a bit of paper and then transfer the notes to the spreadsheet when I was back at my desk. In this sort of situation would a tablet or a notebook/mini laptop be better? it doesn't have to process formulas etc, just surf the net, do emails, fill in spreadsheets or take notes in Word, and PERHAPS LATER use an application to view CCTV footage from time to time. The latter is a bonus, not a requirement. thanks
