  1. trademe trademe trademe ill even link to it. www.trademe.co.nz the rules are to protect bypassing the auction process. i have no experience with your newest purchase. but can you link to the site, so we can see what it is?
  2. The odd well timed burst of blue light works wonders in an emersed setup too.
  3. they are all from the same wholesaler so at the end of the day it should not really matter.
  4. There are 2 types of cat/dog doors. those that fit in glass only and the other that fits in wood / concrete. choose the right one, and most shops that you buy it from should have the number of a glazier (or someone qualified) that can install them.
  5. so using a cloth to clean the lens is a big "no-no" then?
  6. emersed cryptocorynes do well in those sort of tanks. fig 8's get large, aggressive and are incredibly messy. pretty much. they just sit there all day. as long as they are wet they seem happy enough.
  7. pain to feed them. they like eating at their own leisure, and tend to likebeing fed bloodowrms that you have to perfectly position on the gravel at the surface of the water.
  8. they are such a pain! i think they would be best suited to a species tank like a paladarium or something like that.
  9. wow. that is nice. almost like a vista background with the reflections.
  10. I am with Vero. comprehensive contents minimum cover is $60k. covers contents and your house for its value. give them a call and get a quote, and ask them to explain their policies.
  11. sure you can. it is also a great tank btw. was this on trademe a while ago? to stop the condensation on the front, wipe it from the inside with water from the tank, and use an algae cleaner to clean the glass with the water in it. works a charm.
  12. I support the circadian rhythm theory. Those have got to be the neatest, weirdest looking eggs ever!
  13. yeah with africans. the grate is the size of the tank and sits a few inches above the bottom of the tank. it basically gives you enough time to wake up the next morning, see the fry at the bottom, strip the female if need be and remove her.
  14. windows movie maker but wait there's more. its free, and should already be on the computer as long as you have windows.
  15. you will need a video capture card. AKA tv tuner card. pricespy.co.nz
  16. another tank maybe? ive heard of breeders using a plastic grate at the bottom, and in the event of the female spitting the fry (and intruders) - all is safe cause no fish can get through the grate. if I bred them I'd go along the same route as you and let them do their thing.
  17. maybe let her hold for longer, as the cuckoos are meant to eat the fish fry?
  18. I have access to older ones.
  19. oh brilliant! ill be trying this next year with electric yellows. let me know if it is successful.
  20. I grow it in 40cm of water depth or more with HO lights. does really well.
