  1. yeah but you used flourish. big difference. an overdose of flourish is KNOWN to produce chemical burns, and strip away the slime coat. (the search function on here will provide many answers with re. to flourish overdoses). I can't change your view, (and dont intend to) but a full dose of treatments must be administered on fish - even loaches- if they are in need of treatment.
  2. i have javafern, anubias and crypts. they haven't bothered eating plants. i think the theory of them being voracious plant eaters is a tad over the top. they destroy mosses but that's about it really.
  3. like native shrimp? then heat would definitely be a problem. try sagitaria microfolia.
  4. now where is that facepalm smiley?
  5. the orange ones have the gene for that colour, and the other ones have the gene for the other colour. maybe the gene masks the orange one. who knows.. its all hit and miss the minute we get into the genetic talk without having a gene map. if you like orange, ask around for the orange ones and buy them (pics of the tank would be nice too)
  6. link to here too, there is some useful info on here for those who have not read this before. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=38717&hilit=dragon*+blood* they are a hybrid species. they breed true - meaning the offspring are also like the parents. I would struggle to believe there are different genetic strains, but there are many different colours you can get. here in nz it usually varies from washed out to a yellowish orange.
  7. chemically inert implies that it does not react with any thing else under normal conditions. leaching on the other hand is not something it mentions.
  8. they are not that bad. on another note, they are growing beautifully in my tank.
  9. are they not? they are precious!!! you must put some of that in the water.
  10. but there's more. with every purchase of these, you get those for free!
  11. you're ripping ppl off KP. I have them for sale at $8 each!
  12. is this one of those scenarios where we are supposed to imagine what "these" are?

  14. If i get my private banking job with anz-national ill go to welly. if nothing good comes up, ill do my post grad in palmy.
  15. NZ owned banks still have a while to go before they are considered big. although kiwibanks offshore capital raise is a step in the green for them.
  16. big 4 banks in no particular order: ANZ-National ASB Westpac BNZ
  17. yep. in less than a month I will have a first class degree in finance and international business. There simply put are no "careers" out there. just jobs. And even though I have a "foot in the door" so to speak by working at one of the big 4, it is still practically impossible to get a suitable job.
  18. say wha!!!! I LOVE cucumbers. Ira- eww. pickles? ugh  when i get migranes in summer, i put cucumber slices on my eyes  (and then i hide from the world), and the migranes go away.
  19. I love how you may not have mints or gum when you need it; but will have a cucumber handy  i shall try polishing my shoes with cucumber.
  20. I have brochis species in my tank (green catfish - look like cories but are not). I put them there cause I had to, initially they got nipped, but now are setting down. mind you they are larger than cories.
