  1. Yes, he also owns the apartment next door to us :slfg:
  2. The guy from the store told me that people were keeping them in outdoor ponds etc, but now since more and more people have money to 'hide' they are building massive fish tanks. He said the largest one was 30,000L Also saw baby alligator gars about 7-8cm long. I picked up a 2ft gar from a tank as well.
  3. And went to the local fish wholesale market in downtown Bombay! Saw baby RTCs - $4 for 2, shovel nose catfish $5 for 2 and the most expensive were the tigris / blue shovel noses at $1200 for 2. Silver aros are $5 each. It was very messy though and they don't let people take pics of anything... not surprisingly I saw someone with a backpack pulling out star tortoises by the dozen. :tears: Didn't really care about the other fish there, the catfish were totally captivating.

    Soon...

    It's Ech. red rose.
  5. Very very cool! Can you think of something similar using an eheim 2010 internal?
  6. I'll give you a loan and enough money for a new cannister :slfg:
  7. The one in the pic looks like it could be but you'd actually have to know the power of the lens to confirm.
  8. I usually drive with them, so yea no probs at all!
  9. Yes, the moss, crypts, swords and ferns are all in unheated water all year round!
  10. The carbonic acid would still be bad for your teeth in the long run?
  11. Thanks! I loved those agassizis.. Hmm I have the perfect tank for them too! But when I have apistos I have this urge to breed them and then the crazy cycle starts!
  12. A powerglo would make the reds glow too...
  13. I actually think the BBA could be starving the main plant of the few available nutrients. Solution - excel and some ferts if you are good at doing water changes. Ferns are pretty undemanding - they thrive in my goldfish tank!
  14. Was the bird ok? :tears: I say get an FX5.
  15. It won't unless you put a massive load in - at which point killing the plants is probably going to be the last thing on your mind.
  16. Try flourish excel for the BBA and not an algae fix. As far as the Java Fern goes - if it's store bought, its grown emersed and will grow back, but post a pic so we can see what's actually going on.
  17. Just PM me and we can sort out said goldfish.
  18. *waits for the tank filters to clean up the food before the mussels can get some. I've had my mussels in my tank for a long time now (over a year) and they haven't starved - you just have to know how to best cater for what you have in your care.

They probably will over time, but I have one of those trees in my front yard so I should be able to collect new leaves when its sunny and that should be ok for the rest of the year.

Had about 10 minutes spare today so I set this up and used what ever was lying around the house / outside to do it up. Cardinals came from my main tank - time for a change on that front.
  22. Wow! That tank would look epic with some sand from a beach or a darker sand from the west coast!
