  1. Breeding project 2.0 has started as of 5 minutes ago.
  2. That sounds horrible Barrie. Glad to sound no one was hurt in the fire. It has been a pretty testing and so-so year for me too, but hang in there. Things sort out eventually even if the path is long and winding.
  3. I don't think those plugs he has with the heaters are legal. But the tank is the correct size.
  4. That was quick! what sort of braces did you do?
  5. Just a red spot AKA gibby like everyone has pointed out. They get big and fast.
  6. LOL. I don't want to make them travel! Can't afford to lose any at this stage. I see they are off the wholesale list, but ive asked for another male so I can breed them at least once more before I leave palmy for good.
  7. Thanks. No, haven't downloaded anything. do I get the sheet from the front page?
  8. JOe, you can look at it a million times if you like and call it willow moss, but it is NOT willow moss. Java and Xmas moss can and will grow in cold water. I have been doing a trial all year long and it is flourishing outdoors. The moss you found is not willow moss. Period.
  9. I'm so happy! It will be my first official registered breeding.
  10. Need someone to verify 10 fry so I can register the breeding.
  11. I'd say FX5. The fluval tubes are better than the eheim tubes and i *think the pro III 2080 is more comparable to the FX5.
  12. Most excellent! Wider is definitely better than higher. I keep looking at my tank and wishing it was 2ft wide _ it would look infinitely better!
  13. I don't think the second one is stricta. The nodes are not right. I would say a ludwigia species. kind of looks like glandulosa minus the red.
  14. I got them at the palmy animates 2-3 months ago. They were around.
  15. 25-30cm isn't ANY over 30 cm
  16. If there is another batch. The male is proving to be impossible to catch from the display tank, so unless I buy a male to do the deed, and then sell him I'm not sure it will work.
  17. I counted 9 babies in total which makes sense because there were 10 with the mother, and when I removed her a week -10 days ago I lost one baby. So one short of registering the breeding but oh well. Maybe my first registration can be L46  Friend also picked up 3 baby female GBRs for me. They are uber cute and have made the babies come out more.
  18. YES IM SURE. you may have seen them living, but there isn't the slightest chance in hell they were happy. Think of a big boisterous puppy like fish being pent up in a 4ft tank. its sad. Minimum of a 5ft long tank, wider is better and the height takes secondary importance. This fish likes swimming, digging and rearranging the tank. Don't forget that they get big too!
