Thanks but I have my co2 on a timer so it comes on an hour after the lights and turns of and hour before they turn off. I know not to leave it going when the lights are off. :thup: I don't really worry too much about pH. It stays quite low and doesn't fluctuate too much with nothing in the tank to make it rise. I would only worry about the pH if the fish were effected by the fluctuations but they are all fine and healthy. I also do weekly water changes so the use of ozone would not be practicle. After reading that article it seems it would be mostly useful in a big marine setup. Will you be using the ozone on a freshwater tank? Let us know how you get on and if it makes a noticable difference.

The 2nd one looks cool but I also like the look of plants growing up to the water line.

I got mine from Placemakers so don't know what bunnings has. Its worth spending the money to get it right the first time and to make it look good.

The ply I used for my stand was straight. If your willing to spend a little more, get the decent dressed ply instead of construction ply.

All mine are between 6 - 8cm.

Thanks Antwan. All the LFS down here only have Male rams then because they all look like these. :facepalm: Thank Jen, I will up the dosage from 30 drops to 50 maybe and daily dosages and see how that goes for a few weeks.

Still haven't taken out the Indian fern. It will stay in there until I am happy with the growth from all the plants. A heap of Twisted val added to the far left and a sword below the needle leaf. There is a lot of algae growing everywhere. :an!gry BBA is appearing everywhere. and green spot. And this happening to one of my Anubias plants... Other than that the Aponogeton is putting out a leaf every week Balensae keeping healthy and putting out a heap of leaves Star grass is doing the best And some new fish I'm hoping I have picked a pair correctly, time will tell. I tried having the 3x 150w MHs on for a week, dosing ferts every 2-3 days and noticed all the algae appear so have reduced the lighting back to the T5s and kept ferts the same. Any reccomendations on what I should change?

I have my Tank on a timber floor. I put it across the joists and as close to a bearer as possible. I also put some 4x2 struts under the center of the joist spans just in case and it holds up 800+ ltrs of water easy. My joists are 125x50, 440 apart and in good condition.

Ive feed Broccoli before and it went off in the water over night so don't leave it in your tank too long.

I use to have them and they were cool to watch grow and move around their tank but when I found out they were an unwanted organism I destroyed them. If they were ever allowed I would grow them again. good live food for fish. There are native ones around CHCH IIRC

Ive noticed my CL not acting normal. It sits out in the open with no energy and not acting very clown loachy. It is in a tank with other loaches,CAE,synos and all others are fine and feeding as per normal. I have had it for a few years now and is 8cm long. Has been in my partners tank for the last 4-5 months and she told me it was acting weird so it brought it back home a few weeks ago to see what was wrong and has now started showing these symptoms. It: -is getting skinny around its head area -has red marks on its side like blood vessels. -has white lines along its lateral line that kind of stick out a little bit. -is breathing very quickly. I do WCs every Sunday and I added some salt yesterday and uped the temp to 29deg. What else should I do and does anyone know what it could be? I have levamisole incase it is worms and I have whitespot cure, melafix, primamix for anything else.

Thanks guys. Now I want to add some dwarf cichlids to start the fish stocking. I have a few ideas: Double full red apistogramma pair and a pair of some sort of ram. I like German blues but I also like the long fins on a Bolivian(but Bolivians don't have the colours I like unlike the Germans) :lol: I'm liking the Germans more. Does anyone know if a pair of apistos and a pair of rams will get along together in this tank? There will be plenty of hiding places. And what is the availability of these fish?

The smaller one soon lost the fight and has gone pale and the bigger one has darkened up with the other one and they now share a ceramic pot together. From the behaviour would you say I have 2 males and a female?

What about a 30min meth blue bath/dip? Half dosage for scaleless fish.
