as long as there is plenty of hiding place you can almost have any Malawi cichlid in there. Within reason of corse.

What can go in a small tank other than fish that will handle it?

I've just decided to try this too. I have a small 30ltr tank that I wnt to try out.

I always fed my dog(Jack russel x) on half a frozen rabbit once a day (+dried food) and they lived a very long and healthy life. I'm getting a new pup(B Collie) on Wednesday, because my old girl of 13yrs died a month ago, and I will be feeding a similar diet again.

They will probably be cheaper up North, Nothings cheap down South.

I find it easier to just buy a 2.4m x 1.2m x 40mm insulation sheet of poly from any hardware place and glue them together to make it thicker.

Yes I am going to try Lilaeopsis Zelandiae for a carpet but I will leave a few parts of bare sand in there. If that doesn't work I might try some glosso. Never grown it before so its my 2nd choice.

They don't have much colour but I like them. If I did choose them I would want another colourful type to make up for the lack of colour. Providing they schooled separately. ok so What I've got to pick from so far... I do like the Silver tip tetras but from what I remember from when I had some, they are very aggressive towards eachother. Mayby they wouldn't be so bad in a group of 40+??? What I am after is something that schools nicely.

Anyone have any ideas on what sort of tetra I should school in my planted tank? I want something with a bright colour. Not Neons or cardinals. Everyone has them, I want something different. I quite like the bright copper colour of silver tip tetras. Do lemon tetras have a bright yellow to them or are they dull? What other tetras should I consider? And is it possible to school two differnt types of tetras or do they just all mix together in a single shoal in one tank?

I got mine from a nursery and it cost me $25 a bag because of the cost to get it sent down here. The Nursery ordered it from Daltons for me.

I have one of the Aqua One HOB filters and as Caryl said, I fill it up so I don't hear the trickle of the water, and the impeller only makes a quiet hummmmmm. Good for bedroom tanks.

My mother has a deer and a possum. Both wander on inside the house as if they live inside all the time. The possum has just had a baby and it lets mum handle it. Very cute balls of fluff when they are tame. not so much when wild.

Get either one IMO as long as they have good colouring in their tails. Bright yellow in the L47 or bright orange in the L14.

I would say 2x2 would be fine. Ply acts as the bracing if you use plenty of fixings/screws. Otherwise diagonal bracing would be the best option IMO.

I work in an office too but if you take your time (and use a drop saw) its easy to get the cuts straight. If you ask nicely I don't see why Bunnings wouldn't cut them to length for you.

Most places that sell timber will cut it to length for you for free, but don't count on it being perfectly straight.

If you could share the plans that would be awesome. I'm getting back into flying now I have my tank set up.

They would be very cool to have and watch scavenging around the tank. Are they readily available or quite hard to come by?

I have an auto water top up valve already installed and just need to get the water line taped in, and an overflow drain, then water changes will be as easy as turning a tap. When the plants need more co2 and ferts I guess I will just up the co2 and ferts. and then I'm hoping I can make use of the MHs and have everything full blast and make my plants turbo grow :slfg: Tonight I did a slight prune of damaged and algaed leaves and topped the stargrass and replanted it and took out a LOT of Indian fern. I like pruning my tank, I come home after work and spend time on it, its my hobby and I look forward to the constant prunning. I can't wait for it to grow more and more and more When I convert this to a marine one day I will most likely make use of ozone and mix it into a skimmer. I can only dream of my tank looking like Mr Amano's tanks.
