The Smaller of the 3 Snowballs

I haven't had the co2 running on the tank for a week now because it ran out after 4 months. So I stopped dosing ferts and reduced the lighing period to 6 hours a day and I have noticed a big difference in fish behaviour. The snowball plecos seem to be out a lot on the front glass. If you look close enough to the photo above it shows the gravel pushed back from the glass from one end of the tank to the other where the pleco has moved along it. I will hopefully get the co2 going again next week.

I cranked my co2 up a few weeks ago and my discus were fine

Ive had a bristlenose get stuck in my sump return pipe. I have no idea how he got in it from the amount of flow coming out but it was stuck in there sideways dead. Only thing I can think of is the power went out and he went in and power came back on and STUCK! I come home and find not much flow in my tank :an!gry I don't keep them any more either.

Too much light maybe? What lighting are you using and how long do you have them on for?

I don't mean to sound dumb but what is it?

The algae could also be from the sunlight through the window?

Have you thought about putting a small power head in there for more flow, you might get some different behavior from the tenants. Also is that a fern plant in there of just leaves? it would be cool if it grew and stayed green like that.

Tank is looking cool. How much flow do you have in there?

Does anyone have any of this? I wouldn't mind trying some in my tank.

lol. It only took me 5mins max to tie these up. they weren't out of the water very long. Gotta keep the leaves wet.

I just use cotton thread to hold it on. Its fairly easy. how long did you have them out of the water for? they shouldn't be going brown.

I made up some ferns sticks today. I pushed the sticks into the substrate at the back to get so ferns growing up higher, Should fill in the blank spots when they grow out bigger.

I got a box of 3 squares of different sizes. it only cost me $70 but it is great stuff. came in a week

I mixed Wasp killing powder with raspberry jam and tipped it in and around the nest entrance. they all took it into the nest and ate it. the nest was dead in a few days. spraying the powder into the entrance also works, the worker wasps spread it around the nest as they go in and out.

looks like a nice tank, What are you going to put in it? Throw out the plastic plants and get some real ones. you can get some new filter pipes from any pet store or any plumbing shop could be cheaper the little clear plastic bit is a non-return valve so you don't get water in the pump when it switches off.

Very cool BC. She looks almost the same as my boy, eyes and all... He likes to kick the cat out of its bed. I love the eyes on Blue Merles

I found it usually grows slower than normal java ferns but in my tank it grows fast with all the Co2 & Ferts.
