  1. I wouldn't say its that good. 3.5kg Co2 bottle came and is now filled. Only problem is the regulator has a leak, I can hear it so I will need to pull it apart and figure out if I can fix it or I will need someone to look at it for me. Also a pic with the light hood on the tank. Soon I will need to figure out how I am going to scape it. I don't have a lot of plants to go in it yet after spending a little too much on fish for it. So it will look a little bare for a few months until everything grows.
  2. I have emailed both chch and auckland and both places said they do not stock the bulbs and don't seem interested to help me at all. This is quite frustrating, Surely someone is able to source the bulbs from somewhere.
  3. Thanks Spoon, I have just emailed the CHCH branch. Hopefully I will get a reply tomorrow.
  4. haha only with that tank. But my future cichlid tank will be something to look forward to. I can only stay away from them for so long until I will want them again.
  5. I need 4x 80w 14,000K T5, 4.75ft (1450mm) bulbs for my light hood. Does anyone know where I can buy some? They need to be able to post them.
  6. Yes I'm suprised it turned out as good as it did. I'm not the best at getting things straight or measure correctly but I'm very pleased with it. I don't think it would have looked right with different coloured doors or a coloured trim. And black looks better than a dark grey tone that I was thinking of doing.
  7. I like the look of the Azuzures. And Calvus... :happy1:
  8. Java moss will work well, and a few other stem plants, Indian fern, some rotala species ive seen in cold water.
  9. The Lights brighten up the room pretty good. Just waiting on the sump now to set up the plumbing.
  10. I keep trying to download it but when it is down and I go to unzip it i keep getting errors saying the file is unknown or corupt :-? EDIT: Don't worry, worked after 3rd download, I played it for hours last night :yaw1:
  11. So close but still so much to do until I can add water.
  12. Drilling holes could be a good idea. Hot glue wouldn't stick to glass though would it. And being submerged in water...?
  13. ... glue an overflow comb to corner overflow. I have used silicone before and the comb fell off. and I sanded the comb to give a rough edge to stick to as well. The overflow is the plastic ones from HFF and the corner overflow is glass. The silicone stuck to the glass but the comb came off clean. Do people use normal silicone? What should I use?
  14. Thanks everyone who helped me get my stand and tank into its final resting place. Now just need a few touch ups and the doors on.
  15. First major mistake  ... The stand is wider than my front door :an!gry by 5mm! So if anyone is free this afternoon to help me lift the stand through my front window please come help. I need the manpower.
  16. I brought my lights from here... http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/102344155.html
  17. - What CO2 regulator are you using? HSL Brand. - How good are those Weipro heaters? I don't know, I haven't used it yet. its 500W and supposed to be good for up to 1000L. - What ballasts are you using for your lights? They are Odyssea ballasts, Can't really tell you more without having them in front of me. - How does an auto water top-off valve work? It works exactly way the same as your toilet cistern works. When I get it installed I will post detailed photos like I have with everything else so far. HTH
  18. Ballasts, heater controller and Fan/controller installed in the stand. I still haven't decided if I will need to seal off the sump from all the electrical stuff yet. I was thinking I could easily use a sheet of poly to make a partition.
  19. Hollywoods have told me $220 :an!gry and they will send it to me empty because they can't send it full. That should mean it could cost less if it isn't filled right???
  20. If anyone has a 7.5kg or more Co2 bottle for sale, PM me please.
  21. More equipment has arrived... Auto water top up valve, black Co2 tubing, heater, Scissors, Tweezers & Co2 Regulator. I'm just waiting for HFF to get in some new Co2 bottles and I'll just about have everything. Oh... everything except my top layer of substrate  On a side not, Ive just found my first flower in my tank from one of the plants for the new setup. Its a very small flower but a flower none the less. It is one of three.
  22. Very Good Read. I hope to do the same one day but 3000ltrs I have all my plans drawn up. Just need the space and the funds. One project at a time I keep getting told. Livingart has made one
  23. I think the MHs are 10,000k. I will confirm tonight. so 4x 14,000k T5s? Do they need to be HO?
  24. You would be better to reduce the hour at the end of the day than in the middle. I find it easier to cut any algae ridden leaves off my plants than try remove the algae itself.
