I think most companies that deliver water also deliver saltwater. Or at least the few I've seen looked like they advertised also saltwater. No harm calling a few and asking.
Eh, just turn it off, pour a gallon of vinegar in, let it sit overnight, then connect the outlet to a hose or run it into a bucket or something and do a big water change.
Vinegar works well enough and I don't think you need the extra speed hydrochloric would give you. Overnight is just fine. I think the best mix is 50/50 hydrochloric and water?
Buy one of these...
If the door to the garage is closed then you can't hear it through the rest of the house.
Seriously though, Try a small cabinet or similar with some foam padding around the inside. Worth a try, otherwise just turn the TV up to drown out the sound..
No. You need to put exactly .4 teaspoons in each one or your fish will grow horrible deformities, grow extra eyes and arms then they'll climb out of the tank and bite your toes off while you sleep.
I seriously doubt that would be overkill. It's probably fairly weak. Assuming it's similar to the one here at my work all it does is slowly cool maybe a liter of water. It's probably under 100 watts cooling. An average size marine tank could do with at least 500.
And all the piping is probably copper which would wipe out all the inverts in a marine tank unless you rigged up some kind of heat exchanger to keep the water running through it from contacting the copper pipes.
Still...$20 is worth a try...
We've had 6mm of rain today(I think it must be more than that)...And 80! lightning strikes since noon. That's within 25 km of Upper Hutt. On the 6-7 minute drive down the hill on the way to work this evening I counted 23. All looked to be very close around the Upper Hutt area. A couple times I couldn't say a thing while driving down the motorway. Counted a total of 42 on my trip to work.
And yet, it's bone dry in Wellington.
Hmmm...I'm wondering how much of that is from evaporation. Probably not much. Only way I can think of to check for sure is take a bucket full of water and put it next to the pond. The bucket should have the same drop in water level from evaporation as the pond. Then you can at least tell the landscapers you checked that before complaining that it's still leaking.
It would raise your PH too much to be practical. And yes, pipi shells will do they same thing because they're made of calcium just like oyster shells. If you want some don't bother going to the beach to get it, buy a bag of bird grit from the pet store.
Total weight of the water is irrelevant. All that matters is the pressure. Which would be something like...Ummm...1 PSI=2 feet, so less than half a PSI at most I'd say. I think most people can suck that hard easily.
You don't need a way to plug the ends. All you need is a little tap at the highest point. You put the tubes in the tank, put a hose on the tap and suck all the air out.
