    LNB

Heh, I was thinking, "LNB? Lawn Nower Blenny?"
  3. Saw this guy in a pet shop in Alaska. He was about $150 NZ, iirc.
  4. There hasn't been a thermometer made using mercury(Except for maybe some specialist ones) in like 30 years.
  5. Best thing about sesame street is these guys... Assuming they're still on there.
  6. Most likely the baby axolotyl died of some other cause. They're scavengers, not predators.
  7. At $40 I think I'd rather spend $120ish for a full coral instead of a frag.
  8. I'd say $20 would be a very good price.
  9. The Switched On Gardener bulbs would be perfect if you're trying to grow flowerPOT corals in your reef tank...

    Noisy Deltec

Takes me ages whether or not I have anything there, the filter wool didn't make a difference.

MCE600, I assume you mean? Yes, that's what I have. Was easy enough to put the filter wool in. Push filter wool to bottom, drop pump into place, wiggle and fiddle with it for an hour with my fingertips to get it to slot into the hole the intake goes into. But that's the same as without the filter wool.
  12. I find my durso pretty easy to tune. Tighten air valve water level drops. Open air valve water level rises. The whistling from the valves is pretty noisy though. I keep meaning to throw some airline into them and throw the ends into the sump where it would be contained a bit...
  13. Best bang for the buck would be opening a window and putting a fan in front of it...

I just put a piece of filter wool under the pump. There's enough space for it.
  15. Should work fine. How many you'd need depends on the dimensions of your tank. 4X2X2, two would be ok, maybe a bit underlit but anemones would be ok directly under them high in the tank. Longer or taller and probably more like 3-4.
  16. I have an interesting growth of grape purply sponges on a rock in my tank. Wifey hates it, but I like it.
  17. Yes, they're good. They filter the crap out of the water, which means if you have massive amounts of them you have too much crap in your water.
  18. Did it start orange though? Because, as far as I know they only come in white. But they quickly turn orange.
  19. Bring back some fish! Put them in ziploc bags and stuff them down your pants. That way they'll stay warm.
  20. I think that's serious overkill. I'd have just given everything a good scrub and a rinse and thrown it on the new tank.

    Strange Snails?

    Trumpet snails, I think.
  22. Just toss a piece of filter wool under it or between it and the glass.
  23. I don't know if a sponge filter would have enough flow to work very well for filtering algae out of the water. Especially since it would clog up pretty fast. A powerhead or other powerfilter would work better.
  24. No, you don't. Cyano grows on all the surfaces in the tank, not in the water. Assuming you've done the obvious and done water changes without that working, put a heap of filter wool around the intake of your filter(Just wrap it around and rubber band it on) and clean it every day. I've found that to be the best way if water changes don't work.
  25. I tried a plecochip in my tank. Fish didn't eat it... Now the bristleworms, they came out into the light and swarmed it!
