Since when is a breed of deformed inbred mutants a normal fish? That body shape doesn't look particularly abnormal for a goldfish. The head looks a bit small, but if it was bloated that could explain it.

There's no reason to unplug them. It's like unplugging your tank's lights after the timer switches them off at night. Stupid.

There isn't anything that needs to be added to it before drinking. It's not going to leach all the minerals from your bones, give you scurvy because it has no vitamins in it or dissolve your intestines or whatever else some people come up with.

I have a rubber cone kinda thing that fits into the end of your standard 15mm(Is that right?) hose. Got it from Mitre 10. Not the greatest, but it works fine.

A couple khuli loaches went about 4 months in my brothers FW tank without any feeding or any maintenance. So I'd say marines, with the good supply of pods in a well established tank would be just fine for a few weeks occasionally.

Freakishly bloated is normal for most of the fancy goldfish though.

They're fine with it. Metranidazole is very forgiving with its dosage rate.

Sure you can take it under water to test it. You have some plastic bags, right? Put lux meter in bag, tie bag, put in water.

Reflective tape would only reflect light directly back into the tube if it's perpendicular to the path of the light.

I'd say 90% of people, maybe more are using magnetic ballasts. So...Yeah, I think they're ok.

You could also probably get some pond liner paint(Can't remember the proper name) and paint the inside of the barrel. Should seal out any nasties. -
Mine haven't disappeared, but there aren't a huge amount of them. I'm starting to suspect I may be overskimming my tank too. Need more frags!

I'd say you're looking at around $1000 worth of fish at averagish retail. Oh, guess I'll put in approx prices that I've seen or bought at: bicolour blenny : About 120 2 clown fish $140 for two l a bluetang: $200 maybe a yellow tang: $170 some blue chromis: $120 for 3 2 firefish: $140 for two and a bicolour psuedochromis: $120

Just about anything can go in with gold severums. At the moment I have 2 golds and 2 greens. I've had blue rams, danios, lineatus, little tiny convicts all with them. The severums never bothered them. In fact, the ram would...Well, chasing the severums isn't quite right...More like the severums just thought, "WTH is your problem?" And went somewhere else.
