  1. I went out to the beach out past eastbourne and picked up a couple grocery bags of sand once. It's grey instead of black, but looks nice in one of my tanks.
  2. Well yeah, duh. The only ones sold here are basically varying types of sweet pickles. Which are disgusting. They're only slightly tastier than milk mixed with OJ. (Try it, it's horrible) The good ones are kosher dills.
  3. The only good cucumbers are pickles. Which I haven't been able to find the best ones here in NZ yet.

  5. Yeah, that's probably way too small. A small return pump doesn't matter on an overflow setup. You don't get any more overflowing back to the sump than you're pumping up to begin with. But it's small because you'll be barely getting a trickle back into the main tank with a pump that small. Go for something more like 2000LPH.
  6. Pretty sure they had them there at some point, they're not called bulkheads, tank valve fittings I think they call them. Try Mastertrade instead, they're just down the road.
  7. Yes, if you magically manage to get a smaller pump working at a negative head pulling water from the tank into the sump perfectly matched with another larger pump working at a positive head pumping into the tank then they'll become the unmatched by about the 20th rotation of their impellers... It IS possible though to set up the sump so that it cannot overflow the main tank. Just put the pump in a seperate chamber that the water overflows into and have it sized(Or only fill it up to a given amount) so that it runs out of water before overflowing the main tank. Not ideal but most pumps aren't going to immediately burst into flame the instant they run dry. Easiest way to do it(And the way I did mine) plug the overflow and fill the main tank almost to overflowing. Then unplug the overflow. Wait until the water levels stabilize and mark the pump chamber. BTW, be ready to stop the water flowing into the sump if it's going to overflow it>

    DIY Metal Halide?

Then use 250s, or 150s. Sounds more like they're trying simulate the varying brightness throughout the day, use the dimmer T5s most of the day then nice bright MHs at noon. Some people have too much money.

Only 2 hours a day? What the hell kinda crack monkeys have you been listening to? There are people all over the place with 500-1000+ watts of lighting over their tanks running 12+ hours/day. If someone can't run his lights for more than 2 hours a day he is doing it wrong.
  10. Define "Crime"? Misdemeanor or felony? Criminal or traffic offenses? Will you not get ACC if you're rear ended in a car while your computer is at home downloading an episode of Stargate Universe? What about if you hit a patch of ice and crash? "Sustained loss of traction" is also a crime.
  11. Oh, wait, you're in Aus, never mind.
  12. I don't think I'd admit to having Koi if I were you.
  13. I have not, and expect I never will see a car driver fall off his car at a stoplight...
  14. Yeah, that's definite narrowband...

Have you tried the search? This comes up weekly.
  16. Styrofoam is a foam of polystyrene. Polystyrene is a hard, relatively inflexible thermoplastic used in a huge number of plastic items like forks, CD cases, cups, models and polystyrene foam.
  17. Without pulling it to bits there is no way of knowing what's caused it.
  18. You wouldn't want a parasitic fish like that to feed in your exhibit, would you?
  19. You should name them Nimh, Nicad and Lipo.
  20. You need to read a book to them to make them lay more. I hear they really like books of poultry...
  21. Days, weeks or months depending on species, water conditions, age, temperature, health and feeding before the fasting.
  22. Was there a game on recently? I must have missed it, which stadium was it played at?
