Same thing happened to me , everything looked alright last night but this morning .... one dead and half eaten girraffe, damn... short time later I noticed one of the female bristle noses upsidedown and very still..Crap . Panic water change (10%) everything still checks out fine , sometimes UFD happens.

My father inlaw has a real old flywheel and piston air pump, very quiet and moves big volume. No idea where to get them though. I have a 4outlet Hailea brand, from the Bird Barn that is quiet, especially when sitting on some poly.

We have two boy teenagers, and one girl almost teenager, two cats, hyper foxy/jack russel/wippet? X, one budgie(just lost one last weekend) and of course Mixed African rift lake tank . (love cichlids..syno's..and cichlids) Soon to have C. fronnies I hope! Hobbies are staring into space ,dreaming of T-bucket rides, pinstriping, bone carving, game fishing and doting over my wife. Most time spent on following various football teams every weekend, or gazing into fishtank with a silly grin.

Get qualified sparky to look at it, Yellow Pages, if you don't know any. High amp appliance is no place to to go poking around in unless you know what you are doing. Same thing happened to an old stove of ours, cost me new thermostat/switch and box of beer, which I got to share!LOL Sparky is a mate.

I recently had something similar with my 500lt Rift Lake dont know the contamination was but one dead fish + contaminated bucket = lots of water changes I also used Nitra-Zorb and StressZyme Filtration Booster to speed up recovery. Then last weekend all the fish, cichlids, bn's , and syno's gasping on surface babies everywhere and nothing getting eaten,,, massive ammonia spike , so more water changes 100lts one day then 50 the next,, everything back to normal now. Hard to sleep the night through now , without getting up to check on everythig! Hope it all goes well for your setup from now on.

Just let the buckets stand iver night. Chlorine is a gas in solution and it will disperse out by itself,agitating the water will make this happen faster. If you have chlorimine you will need "ager"? , neutralizer. This is not often added to the water supply . I only worry about it if there has been works in the area.
