Rechargeable Nitra-Zorb removes ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Easy to use . Not cheap but worth it to save fish

Yes, but in these ones they have air bubbles going up and a vacuum pump to remove it. They look kinda cheesy, and unnatural. Suit America I suppose!

Whilst looking at alligater gar stuff on you tube came across links to these Upside-down tanks, they have one tall tank inverted in a wide open tank , looks like mad science but it seems to work. I don't know how to post links sorry you'll have to look it up.

Glad to see them go to good home, I only had one blue dolphin about 100mm ,and it took over the whole tank!! Even bossed around 150mm giraffe! THanks.

I agree that animals,and people , have a right to life. But some dogs, like some people it seems, are just mistakes and the damage one individual dog can do to is not worth the risk or the resourses, sorry put it down.

Nice tank. Enjoy . I use coral and pumice to get taller stacks ,that way when (if) they fall at least they fall relatively slowly. Also if you don't mind artificial things in there Fishzone , Mt. Wellington in Auck. have some cool resin rocks

I am hoping tp get some juvie Fronts in a couple of months,(long time to hold my breath!), I am wary of having anything to stroppy with them, they will be the main focus afterall. I see you are having Leloupi with yours .Will the pretty little yellow monsters be calm enough for the fronts? Also how long will you grow them out on their own , I will have to do the same. I have a spare 3ft and filter waiting.

Yes I know what you are saying, Pick the best ,or pick who you are told to pick. Politics and selectors ....never a good mix! BTW how are you going with the Syno's do they need breeding cichlids ,to do their thing or will they scatter eggs themselves? I have 2 iin a 5ft tank , could I add more? or are they territorial? Web sites don't agree

In NZ under the Consumer Guarantees Act you should be covered for manufactoring defects and breakages for what would be a resonable life expectancy for what the item costs, hope that reads better than it sounds! eg we have a dishwasher several months out of its warranty period but F&P reolaced parts at no cost to us. also a DVD player 15mths old was replaced under a 12mth warranty. Fluval have a good name for long term reliability try them again. Good luck.

Marine varnish (polyurethane) has higher amount of UV blockers than standard exterior types and even more than interior Satin . this means it will yellow more when shaded from sunlight. Danish Oil, Deks Ola etc may leach contaminants when condensation forms inside hood and drips back into tank.. could be risky I'm a painter too .. sometimes it is difficult to get information on products that are imported. especially from the school kids at some of the trade shops nowdays!

I had a SunSun type tank with the overhead filter 4 outlets made noise , I fitted small lengths of plastic tube in the outlet holes that reached below the water surface. Worked fine.

Illegal.. especially Goat Island!!!! Saw a saltey get made to tip out WATER he collected at Goat Island because it was below the high tide line and therefore protected! Just something to keep in mind

Try sand from different beaches. Some of them are a lot finer than others, also anywhere around Auck. there will be all sorts of foreign objects and contaminants. Maybe go somewhere like Leigh , or Orewa

I have coral with caves carved in it in my african tank, I dont think even UG jets would work. Brislenoses and syno's do it for me.
