  1. I have brown algae too, never been an issue. Birthmark maybe? Might be sign to introduce new genes into breeding stock?
  2. Just my opinion, but, I think the whole thing is over the top when a lot of the results depend on illicit chemists!
  3. Is there a" carbon footprint " attached to these games?
  4. Looks much like the calcinate(?) / Aragonite I have in my tanks. No problems with it,fish have been damaged when I moved coral rock though!

    Fresh water shrimp

I had some in with White Cloud Mountain Minnows, lasted ages, came from around the Waikato. The ones with the goldfish got picked off though.
  6. I have on DVD "HotRod Girls From Hell" Aussie film with the help of Cruzin' magazine, Rat rods, rockabilly and comedy.....worse acting than 'b' grade, but I like it!!
  7. I paid $40 ea. for 3-4cm juvies, I thought that was reasonable.(good even)
  8. When we tried to keep them as kids in with our 4ft goldfish tank , they didn't do that well. I think water quality/flow could have been better! We kept native freshwater mussels, snails, bullies, real small eels , inaga, kokopu and even shrimp with varying degrees of success. But I think warm water was always a problem. There is a Native section on the Forum, maybe post there.
  9. Decide if you want acrylic(SunSun type) or glass, rounded corners or square with joins.Depending on the type of fish you wish to keep, the volume of water and height of the tank and stand may be an issue. Extra filtration may be required with the SunSun type. Hope this helps.
  10. I have a 4 outlet Hailea pump running, it is not as loud as the Fluval 404 next to it, Very quiet and large volume, (lucky to get it for very good price because of damaged box)
  11. Ringo Starr's "Caveman", "American Graffetti"and "The Gumball Rally"
  12. IMO replace the divider as soon as you can. It will rust under the plastic coating before it is visible on the surface, even a small amount could be harmful to the fish,
  13. Agree with Barrie. When they did one on electricians a few years ago 3 out of 4 were shown to be cowboys...however they didn't show the other 20 odd they also set up who were good at the job! I don't believe in "set them up" television!

Well Done, Simian. Thanks. A moment spent talking to a wise man is worth a month's study of books!

    Very, very nice. :bounce:
  16. I can see something great happening here! Hope the wood sinks eventually. I have boiled the snot out of smaller pieces to make them sink(after a plunge in cold water) but I think that piece is too big for the pot!

    Tumblers

Maybe look at brine shrimp hatching,ie. silicone a air-line elbow into soft drink lid, bottom cut off and inverted in tank. Low flow rate just enough to rumble eggs?fry around?
  21. I would think yes. Soak first to help it sink

    Tumblers

    What is a tumbler for?
  23. If it is just a faulty impellor that needs replacing, get two. Then you will have a spare if needed next time.
  24. Ok, Ok,OK... agree with the roundabout thing too. (BTW my car is lowered too...shhhh)
  25. Bummer, A-town, I have had the same thing(no mags though) at roundabouts with two lanes and the dumbasses cut right across both lanes. Seems the lower the car the less they can drive!!
