Thanks, Mystic. I did the Dick Smiths thing. Power source I have is an old 12v phone charger. Works and looks cool. Can't photograph it though!

I just paint poly (acrylic paint) and jam it onto back of tank, small blobs of silicone in each corner hold it in place

If they can catch 'em, they will eat 'em I have seen mine going after brichardi fry , with success! Also they get them at night.

Vinyl etch primer....PA10.... comes in black, grey and red(oxide) avaliable in spray cans, messy otherwise.

Save a bit longer and get what is best not just what you can afford now. you will be happier in the long run. I know from experience!

The one I saw was very similar to that. But dark yellow all over. Also it was about 25-28 yrs ago! Memories are somewhat blurred!! -
TIP leave enough gap to get power plugs downbehind! I didn't on my 5 1/2 ft tank and it is a right pain in the you know what to change light fittings air pumps etc. Even maintainence on the external filters is difficult because it it so hard to move hoses around back there(I have two filters so I can alternate cleaning)

Sorry my mistake!! replaced fuse wire with mini circuit breaker... sparky mate said I should have RCD (cost more ) Circuit breaker better than fuse wire ...trips out faster!!

Oscars will "play" with a ping pong ball too. I think they only have 3 parts in their brains,, "can I eat it?," "can I fight with it?," "can I mate with it?"

When I recently had new power points added I had to replace the existing fuse(fuse wire type) with an RCD. Plug in replacement was about $30or $40 not expensive, I was told it was Law to have RCD protection now. That is for new or upgraded circuits.

There must be a reason sparkies need to be registered. Get it wrong and that electrickery could kill you. How is the home insurance provider with self wired gadgets? just a thought from someone too chicken to try this sort of thing hisself.

I played with one whilst snorkeling at Mathiesons Bay,Leigh many years ago. Same colour as the kelp. Looked like a stumpy seahorse with long and broad kelp fronds growing out of it! Larger than common seahorse though. Really cool!! -

Hey, i'm all for protecting animals,but NOT at the expence of starving people! That is one small ,very young ?, whale shark. Damn that's a lot of batter and chips!! -
Problem may have been pH shock, Africans kept in neutral , mixed species display tanks in LFS then taken home to high pH tank...bamm, just a thought?
