  1. It can take time lol I got a male for my female and there was nothing for close to 12 months and then all of a sudden they were at it and wouldn't stop, I had to remove him so he could have a rest and recondition himself lol
  2. Can we see an update yet Mark? :bounce: :bounce:
  3. This got me thinking and I rang my insurance company, AMI to check if I was covered or not. They said if it is a manufacturers defect then I am not but if it is broken by and accident or some one smashing it on purpose then it is. The whole manufacturers defect thing is fine if you have an aqua one or similar but if it is a tank made by a glazier or similar then it dosen't really stand up does it? Sorry to hear about your bad experience Jim
  4. YUS!!! I am still suffering from a very sore throat after screaming my head off at Murph for the last 2 laps lol And to the ones that said you don't get the big deal about the ford and HOLDEN rivalry.... either you get it or you don't lol if you are in to it, you will understand, if you are not then you most likely think we are all nuts I have been a Holden fan since my early teens and I am now in my 30's, I would NEVER consider driving a ford, my family has been told that when I die they better not put me in a Ford hearse, I would rather travel on the back of a Holden ute lol and my son is named after the GREAT HOLDEN driver :D Brockie Some of my extended family are Ford fans and it it great fun when we all get together and give each other stick lol and my cousin knows NEVER to park his Ford in my driveway lol it stays out on the road
  5. Cool article ok, so I am the perfect consumer  I went out and I bought the sea monkeys ok, so I could have hatched my own brine shrimp, I even have eggs here lol but my son dosen't show a huge interest in the fish tanks so I thought him having his own little "tank" might just be the thing that sparks a real interest. Will be adding the eggs later today lol and I am sure we will have fun
  6. lol Yeah I know Caryl... mainly want them for the young man to watch but hey, if I get fish food out of it... all good
  7. They are some type of Artemia, but not sure what sort of stuff they are doing to them before they package them and sell them lol
  8. I just saw these advertised on TV thought it would be cool to get some for my son. Has Any one had these and are they cool? And..... are they safe for my fish to eat? Not that I am getting them as feeders but just thought I would ask
  9. ANy updates in the poor Turt LA? I couldn't see the pics, but maybe this is good thing
  10. Do they actually eat the plants? Mine dosen't, he just rips them to bits and leaves them floating round the tank GRRRRRRRRRR lol
  11. Which pet shop do you go to? If you talk to Tracey and Richard they may buy some of you guppies from you lol
  12. I just had a female change to male not long ago, there were only 3 young females in the tank and suddenly there was 2 female and 1 male. 1 f is now looking fat and full of fry so looks likely they will be all female going by the post above. I have also seen a balloon molly change sex, also from female to male, I found it strange as there was already a large male in the tank, unfortunately they all died so I have no idea what would have happened when they bred
  13. Mine have always been fed on land, well they have fruit flies in there constantly and I add stems covered in aphids when I can find them. I have never seen them in the water yet, except for when I very first got them and one fell in accidentally when it was exploring lol I am not sure if I should shove them in or let them figure it out them selves lol unfortunately the was I set the enclosure up means that I can not see them on the land portion unless I open the lid up and peer in lol
  14. Sorry about your loss Can't help with the cause though sorry
  15. After further investigation at the LFS today I found the Sera brand has a internal filter that has a compartment for noodles and you can also buy an extra part that allows you space to add more noodles etc, reasonably priced and having looked at their tanks etc I am happy with the quality of them so have one on order. They are called a unifilter 500 but also come in 750 and 1000. There are also smaller ones. I feel a bit more comfortable about having an internal filter now that I can have some noodles in it lol
  16. I am hoping to have some plants in there but as it is quite tall I am not too sure how well that is going to go lol next thread you are likely to see from me is to ask about lighting lol Thanks Wok, will check them out
  17. No, it is a hexagon tank and the bracing won't allow for a HOB filter unfortunately
  18. Hi guys, Picking up another tank tomorrow, it is around 90 litres and the only option I really have filter wise is an internal. However, I don't know anything about internal filters lol What I did notice while at the LFS is that most of them just have foam in them and no noodles etc, does this make the tank less stable? So I guess my question is... If you were buying an internal filter for a 90 litre tank, which one would you choose and why? Also I saw one on TM with a built in UV light, is this actually beneficial or not? Thanks oh wise ones, I look forward to your replies
  19. I have been ogling to young oscars in my LFS, they are gorgeous and I want them so bad lol but I am so far doing a great job of restraining myself Would be a great excuse to upsize the tank yet again
