You have just reminded me that i need to sneak down to kaiteriteri to grab some sand for a new tank I am setting up for a pair of shellies from Jen. Pity you ran out of time to drop in. Maybe next time. Happy birthday to Grant and his Dad.

yep your caves will be the same size. Its just your fish are too fat for them The caves in that photo are a little big if anything.

Wow, They are some seriously obese catfish. If you don't get them into a more healthy condition you may well have health issues with them in the future. Good luck with the veges, mine wont touch them. :roll: If they were mine, I would only be feeding them once or twice a week until they lost a bit of "condition". They will get plenty of nutrients from the driftwood. From looking at your photos and your fanning descriptions, I would say that you have at least one male.

Keep your other fish and don't be too disappointed if the L104 don't breed for you. They are not the easiest pleco's to get breeding. Having said that I hope you do manage it and I wish you luck.

You may be correct Zev, It may be a trait that only the males show. If so, what type of female is best to put with him or doesn't it matter? Hopefully someone can enlighten us. I also have this guy, is he more like yours Di ?

As p44 said, Not all need wood in their diet. The tank in the photo actually has 3 pieces of wood in it, they are at the other end of the tank from the stones and caves. I have decided to have a change around the following pic is my new inspiration. I especially like the gravel :lol:

I think your on to something there P44. If all the rocks were flat everything would blend in much better. Its not a display tank but it still has to be pleasing to the eye. Ryan, a good pleco is always lurking in the shadows and not in your face and showing off like an African :lol:
