I just put my kribs in a 600x300x300 tank with gravel substrate and plants...there were a couple large rocks together and they burrowed into the gravel to make a cave, a week or so later baby kribs everywhere. And i wasnt even trying to breed them

my best mate drunk waay to much alcys and we were at the mount beach, had to look after him all morning, from midnight till 6am. Had to walk him about 10km home and he could barely even stand. Lots of incidents on the way home..... very sore feet and back is buggered Got to my car in the morning to find all the locks had been destroyd and my cars stereo system sloten, along with my grandparents digital camera which had all their photos from their trip to germany and england, my whole dash has been smashed, and my alarm is destroyd also. But ahh well it could be worse, everyone is safe and its a beautiful day

what did the naughty people get for xmas
paul_r replied to anthony law's topic in The Off Topic Fishroom
Lots of booze, far too much junk food, couple work shirts and socks and deoderant (is santa trying to tell me something). But the best present was christmas lunch with the family, that was pretty kool -
they have grown tons and are starting to get their color. At the moment my guppies are more agressive then the jewels. Some Jewels are maybe 5cm +/- a bit and if i somehow lost my jewels i would buy some more. One of my fav fish i can sit watching them for ages. I havnt seen any jewels being advertised, only ever seen a sick looking one at a LFS. Maybe if they were being advertised then they would be easier to sell/get rid of .... surely im not the only person who regards jewels as one of their fav fish, alot of freinds see the jewels and want some however after explaining that they can get really agressive puts a few people off, others go and get new tanks specifically for jewels and then cannot find any.

how much aeration does tank have? my tetras often have heavy breathing in my tank without an air line/air stone etc. But have never died, also from what i have ound heavy breathing seems to be related to stress (only what i have noticed) There could be a possibility that the neons had some kind of disease and its now affecting the others... it has been known to happen. Have you kept doing water changes?
-
I think that yes people would buy them. I have eight and they are the funnest tank to watch. Have an awesome personality. They also have lots n lots of color. Might pay to warn potential buyers of their risks though

i do approx 75% water changes in my killie tanks with straight tap water, i just try get it to approx temp and just pour it all in, havnt had a loss. Also never test ph or anything (dont even have any test kits or water ager etc)

yes merry christmas to you all, hope your heads arnt too sore and the wallets dont hurt too much. eat lots of good food, drink some good grog and make the most of time with friends and family..... and most of all, if you are on holiday relax and unwind and make the most of things
-
maybe they got girl germs or someting sorry to hear about the loss.... not a very nice xmas pressie huh Was the tank new or second hand? did you give a good wash with salt or similar before useing? I had similar happen when i got my first killie tank. If it were me i would put angel in a hospital tank with a bit of sea salt.

You gotta admit that was some funny stuff bro
-
i think i should ship the starlet over ther eand get some custom work done on it.......NOT I wonder how much horse power the car gained with the chamber with 6 or so tips.....NOT ... ould hate to think of what they sound like though I wonder if they look at what we do to our cars and think we are crazy. Just because they look terrible doesnt mean they wouldnt be fun to drive. Id love to take those cars for a thrash, funny looking cars are always the best..my paddock basher honda accord was hideous but jees it was fun, i could not kill it!!!

yea the one last night was big, but nothing compared to this one. last nights one wasnt actually 0km deep, the sensors wernt accurate enough to calculate its depth. but yes if the earthquale just now was much shallower we may have all been in trouble...well those of us close enough

definatly wasnt kool, was firstly worries about my tanks falling over and secondly that the house was going to collapse. not a kool feeling at all. Was skard sh*tless

Ok guys lets see some of your things that you have just randomly thought of and then after a bit of blood sweat and tears has come up with something which you have found works out really well for you that you could share. I have posted a pic before but felt like starting a new interesting thread that doesnt contain pointless nothingness Anyway here is my cupboard, runs off 2 light bulbs and 2 air pumps, stores all my goodies...plastic chinese food containers for raising fry, my bbs hatchery, microworms, my storage compartment for killie eggs, have the black light which i move around, the plants get no light now that its summer time (everything heated off 2 lights that run off a thermostat, they turn on when it gets below 24 degrees) I done everything myself, Alan Wakelyn showed me how to wire everything up and Barrie Mckoy made the tanks and alot of people i cannot remember gave me ideas and inspirations. cheers everyone Lets see if we can keep this going with lots of interesting ideas/inventions etc that make fish keeping more affordable/practicle etc etc http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u66/ ... ard004.jpg IMG TAG Removed... Pic too large See NZ Website Section.. on posting pics. Mod Bill.
