  1. i used ark green mops, makes it easier to find the eggs.im not sure if the fish have a favourite colour lol
  2. Bro you were in the same science class as me, crossing your mum with your dad creates jackasses. haha you walked right into that one bro
  3. I cannot remember the exact dosage, maybe someone here can clarify. For my hospital tank which is about 20 litres i put in a few drops of meth blue and a tablespoon of salt. Not sure if that is the correct dosage but works for me...ive only used hospital tank once, and wasnt even looking after my own fish lol
  4. add a bit of salt to the water aswell, fishes natural medicine. Make sure it is seasalt and doesnt have any additives etc
  5. dont tell my killies that... lol They have no filter and just get water from the tap and it gets changed once the sand starts looking yucky lol Infact only 2 out of my 15 tanks have filters
  6. the nigs are very nice...but i dont have any, nor do i have tank space for them. My favourite that i own are the p82's, i have one huge male who is my favourite fish i own, he is big and stocky and has awesome colors
  7. although admitedly the rachovii are the best killie ive seen....only juuust in front of the sjo's. The whole waiting 3 months is frustrating, 2 weeks is a good waiting time for eggs to hatch
  8. hey nothing wrong with non annuals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  9. blue rams and bolivian rams dont go with kribs neither do coryhydras....well not in my case, i think its because th kribs have just apawned and tank is on the smaller size - 600x300x300
  10. Mine stay around 24 degrees, where as some swear by 20 or 22 etc. Killies are generally a cooler temp fish Judging by the ammount of eggs and fry im getting they cope well with 24 degrees, havnt had a single death from disease or anything, but a few have jumped out.
  11. my fav fish to breed are of course my killies, its a toss up between my p82's and my albino garneri, because there is more involved than breeding guppies or platys etc. With livebearers you put male and female(s) together and wait till babys pop out, that generally it. Killies you pick the eggs, then store them and depending on what method method you use you can have fry hatching in 2 weeks. Its a nice suprise checking a tray of eggs and finding a whole bunch of fry They are also easy to breed, just require a little bit of effort
  12. still waiting with the camera for a decent shot
  13. Their tank is in my killie cupboard, tank dimensions are 450lx200wx300H and the 200x300 face is the one faceing the front so takeing a pic is difficult, i will try my best though
  14. yea he sold me the most awesomeist guppies i have ever seen. I just had to have them, they are my preeeeeeccccciiiiiiiiiiious
  15. i have albino snakeskins (i did not breed these myself) I will try get some pics. Aquanut has some very nice guppies, pm him he may have some good pics
  16. At the moment i have got breeding: Plattys Guppies Albino Gardneri Killifish P82 Killifish Australe Gold Killifish Scheeli Killifish Brine shrimp micro worms whiteworms Am trying to breed (but not seriously as i dont have enough tanks) kribensis Blue rams bolivian rams striatum killifish Dageti killifish
  17. and by the looks of things those two ladys are getting a little too close
  18. very nice, i also have albino gardneri but they just relax and do nothing all the time lol. produce many eggs though
  19. id reccomend looking on trademe at the killies for sale, or even visiting killie keepers and having a look at the species available and pick which specie you like. No matter what killie you get if you have any problems just ask away on here, there are many people to help out. they are very easy to breed aswell, im having more luck with my killies breeding than i am with my guppies. They just require a little bit of effort and equipment. When i started my killies only lived on flake and i had low breeding success, they now get flake, micro worms, white worms and brine shrimp and now i only pick the mops weekly because i get so many eggs, i think the record is about 30 eggs from one pair.
  20. hooray school holidays the best times of year, especially summer. When on lunch break there is a lot of eye candy... all the short skirts etc etc. Verr niiiice
  21. water and a heater and filter...... lol just rams and gouramis, possibly a couple neat looking corys for the bottom
  22. yes your calculations are correct, my brain however is dead, my guess was way out actual dimensions are 650hx350x350
  23. The tank is approx 80 litres, around 800hx400x400. Just a guess but it is one that is deeper than it is wide. The bottom is heavily planted. I have some rams(have been alive since fish show in hamilton), but will be getting more in the near future and i want to move some fish around so i have only the neon dwarf gouramis and blue rams in the lounge tank Thanks for help, and sorry for no description of the tank io want to use etc in the first post, was late back to work
  24. Anybody had any experiences keeping these fish together, males and females of both species. Thanks heaps
