  1. Just got a 4 foot tank on weekend, 1200 x approx 400 x 400 with lids (cannot find tape measure for exact dimensions) have got 2 good filters so filtration is sufficient. atm i have large round river stones on bottom have 3 jewel cichlids approx 7cm in tank atm with tank set at 25 degrees can i please have your ideas of what other fish i should put in tank, i do not want a community tank, do not want small fish, (i have 2 tanks breeding guppies as food) nor do i want lots of fish. preferably the new fish can live with the jewels as i love them. im not really a fan of plants. fish must have character i dont want anything that is just gunna sit and hide. must have colour and or attitude. preferably attitude as the jewels are absolutley stunning money is no problem (within reason) i dont mind paying good money for a couple good fish i was thinking of 2 oscars aswell as the jewels, i cannot decide on if i should get any fish for the bottom, im not really a fan of bristlenoses but cannot think of what else to put in that will live with agressive fish. thanks alot guys
  2. does anyone know where to find these "new rules"? i had a quick google and cannot find anything. all i could find was forums with others also Edit Billaney that indicate right and then left to go straight surely the people who make road rules have not lost their minds!!!!!
  3. ITS A LAW!!!!!!!!!! youve got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!! i can remember reading one of the Whakatane papers just recently that the correct way to go straight at a roundabout is to not indicate until just before exiting when you indicate left.
  4. WHY DO PEOPLE INDICATE RIGHT TO GO STRAIGHT AT ROUNDABOUTS!!!!!?????? that would have to be one of the most irritating things anyone can do, grr makes me soooo angry. dont people follow/understand the road rules?!!
  5. What Smidey said.... haha na thats very interesting, im rather jelous 8)

  11. I am an accountant and we use MYOB accountants office for preparing all our annual accounts, tax return, very easy to use and is what i think is an excellent program. we also use version 16 through to 18 for our clients for their day to day accounts, very simple programs to use, doesnt take much to find your way through it, i find it has a bit more internal controls than the likes of quickbooks etc
  12. yea oldskool starlets pretty choice wouldnt mind one myself but mine owes me too much and once ive finished 5efte conversion will be ready for a bit of track fun, pity its not ready atm, miss out on the taupo track day next weekend
  13. grandma/girly as lookn gt starlet. but motor got a bit done infact alot
  14. doesnt seem to make any sense at all........ and im definatly no mega honda fan. care to enlighten us?
  15. there was a starlet like mine that ran a 12.8 or 12.9      pretty sweet for a "girly" car
  16. i have never seen these fish before, they look amazing!!! anyone know of their availability in nz?
  17. i love blue rams, however ideally the fish that go in the tank would have a bit of agressiveness, feeding my jewels guppies was rather amuseing the rams are going to be a "fall back" species. I I thought dwarf cockatoos would be pretty neat aswell. but just need some ideas at this stage thanks
  18. Had a pair of jewels in my 2 foot tank and were doing fine until the male killed the female. after something to replace them, ideally a breeding pair of something, that grows to about the size of a 2 footer. i have had jewels and kribs in the 2 footer, have 5 species of killies and numerous guppies so want something that will be the centrefold if you like of my room. price does not really matter, however dont wanna spend more than $100 a pair. must be really nice looking, being able to feed them guppies would be a bonus Would definatly be interested in another breeding pair of smallish jewels. cheers
  19. shooting firearms is great, gunpowder powered rifles etc are hell fun to use for hunting target shooting etc, i have done much myself theres just a certain thrill about shooting other people, dont know about airsoft but in paintball is about the funnest thing i have ever done. and the pain is half the fun, except multiple shots in the back of the neck/head, HURTS haha we played a game the other weekend with approx 120 ppl playing in the bush all wearing camo DPM's etc, was such a great day
  20. ive never really got into airsoft, used to have bb wars with my brother but its no where near as thrilling as paintball, getting hit by a .68 calibre (sp) paintball at 300 fps in the right place HURTS!!!! i dont imagine they are terribly accurate or have much distance, but then again ive never seen the fancy guns in action
  21. in my mind a big motor makes up for a small...... no but seriously, do not need a big motor to go fast, the 2.0l turbo evos, imprezas silvias etc can make some crazy power and be stupidly quick and dare i say it look at some of the cars hondas make, civics integras etc, can rev stupidly high and make good ammounts of power while still being naturally aspirated with a small motor, plus can handle great. as much joking about how silly hondas are you can never really under estimate them ahh i could go on all day about the joys of a tiny car with a small motor keeping up/over taking the big cars. the look on an older mans face when his brand new commodore is being passed by an almost 20 year old 1300 starlet.....priceless
  22. how much are you willing to spend? and where do you want to go with the car? Could: A. leave it as it is, enjoy driving it and not blow your money B. do a few basic mods, make it sound nice, a bit more power better handling, still be a really fun car to drive, will still be really reliable, wont cost too much C. Go all out Turbo it, tune it, do all the work you want , will be expensive but hey its your car, if you enjoy it who cares what anyone thinks, i get told all the time im stupid for spending so much modding a little girly starlet, maybe i am but i enjoy it D. sell car now and buy one with all the bits and pieces you want, will be ALOT cheaper than doing car up yourself
  23. theoretically they eat mussels, fish eggs, plants etc, i rekon their diet is pretty good, might taste okay dont know if id be too keen to try one though
  24. you can use forced induction on a n/a motor, i am in the process of doing the exact same thing to my starlet. number one rule is GET IT TUNED, detonation kills motors fast. one of quickest gt starlets in nz is useing a basically standard n/a 1500 motor running about 20psi and makes over 200kw at wheels and runs 11's. thats my goal eventually. but i definatly agree with david, if you want to go turbo route sell car now and buy a spec R, already has all the goodies from factory, save alot of hassle and money etc been a while since i had my silvia, cannot remember exactly how much power can be expected from intake and exhaust, definatly dont expect huge power gains its just not gunna happen. perhaps ask on nissansilvia.co.nz forums how much power gain to expect from cold air intake, full exhaust and remapped ecu, getting ecu remapped will offer best increase in power, and costs a couple hundred to get done, but i would wait until air intake n exhaust done first for maximum gains i think your model silvia comes with around 150 horsepower standard
  25. sr20de+T is reasonably cheap, can pick up all the gear second hand for reasonably cheap and its almost direct bolt on, from memory just need to get oil lines done and a det thermostat housing with the water lines. pretty sure you need a det fuel pump injectors etc But thats when you sacrifice reliability for power, although the sr20de motors can handle being turbod, so long as they are tuned properly and ran on good fuel they in theory should be alright. Not sure if i would risk in on a s15 though, alot of money to spend if something goes wrong. New intake system, along with new exhaust system, mine had extractors was 2.5inch with 2 resonators and a shiney tip thing, was quiet but sounded nice. then get put on dyno and get ecu remapped. shouldnt cost too much to get done, then decent suspension and brakes and youl be smiling. The above mods should do nothing to affect reliability, give car a bit more power, sound nice and be able to outhandle alot of other cars on the road
