  1. as much as i hate to admit it the closest thing to a honda ill be eating for lunch is sushi.... my good car is in pieces and my piece of a trueno (best $500 ive ever spent) has no chance of beating any decent honda them gtos go pretty choice, one of the bros has one that he races, got full roll cage and adjustable suspension and all that jazz, for a big orange whale it sure is fast
  2. i will do, as soon as i get hold of a digital camera, flatmate has one but has lost the cord to transfer to computer. could do with cellphone but quality is rubbish would never do the tank justice. ive been planning and preparing and spending hard earned cash on the tank i look foreward to being able to show it off :bounce:
  3. yea bro definatly a convert, picked up some very healthy demasoni as well as some e.yellows, well worth the trip from whakatane to auckland to pick them up I loved my killies, but the africans are so..... AWESOME, they are like a pack of dogs, lots of little fights between themselves and always begging to be fed, as soon as food is dropped into tank there is a massive frenzy got 10 demasoni, 4 e yellows, 6 red zebras and 5 brichardi atm. all their colors are really starting to come out now im very stoked. the tank really brings out their brightness
  4. is that right...well bring it on!!!! i was just in auks the other weekend 2, except was only there for a short time picking up fish for my african setup
  5. RWD=AWESOME=Gets me in trouble used to own a s14 silvia, the mates wanted a drive and thought they were playn need for speed, the ammount of times i almost ended up down a bank or into a powerpole was enough to put me off, and i wasnt even driving!!!! a girly fwd keeps me outta trouble plus rwds are rediculously expensive, dam drift craze has made any cef, skyline etc worth so much more than they actually are
  6. only have average directionals on my rims atm think they are 195/50/15 GT Radial Events, once cars tuned and legal going to invest in some lighter 15's and semis. realistically should have slightly over 200 horse at wheels once i can afford a new computer and tune with upgraded fueling. was aiming for 250 horse at wheels but realise this may be a bit of a dream with setup i have now
  7. once starlets tuned and legit i gunna go to meremere, hoping for high 12's or a low 13 nothing too crazy.... Ill have to catch up with you when im in auks next, only got a cheap as trueno as a runabout atm but hoping to have the starlet ready in a month or 2
  8. thats the exact reason ive modified it so much, looks standard and girly as, faster, better handling and better braking than alot of "manly" cars. (new brake and suspension setup best investment ever) almost ready to take to the track and prove it
  9. i can hear ya tappets from here a few mates have VR4 legnums n galants, they go suprisingly well for tanks hahaha just playn round there are some bodykits that really finish off a car, some that destroy its looks. i prefer the sleeper look also, my starlet only having a modified standard front bumper to make room for big intercooler, alloy radiator as well as an oil cooler as well as standard spotlights removed to allow room for ducting to cool front brakes.
  10. i wouldve thought tardme would be full of bodykits for above mentioned cars. even a quick google should find something in NZ, think there are a few companies that do bodykits. racepro, bodykit.co.nz to name a few go to performance car website http://www.performancecar.co.nz, should have plenty of links to find someone that makes what your after.
  11. the pet shop in taupo used to sell killies, not sure if they still do, its been long time since i had last been there also a petshop in mount maunganui sold killies aswell, again been long time since i had been there cannot remember the name of it, animal antics i think
  12. my yardie full of glorious lion red was ruined by a good friend who thought itd be a good idea to top up my yardie a wee bit with rum mixed with ginger beer while i was errr making more room the last 10% took sooo long to drink, i almost throw up on the smell of rum, let alone having to drink alot of it mixed with ginger beer and lion red yardies are great, i cannot wait till i get the chance to do one again i wasnt sure of sex of si_sphinx, didnt want to be rude or offend
  13. i think theres a line for eating pets, everyones lines are in different places. I would eat any of my pets that in my mind are table food, could never eat tropical fish or cats, dogs etc growing up on a dairy farm i had a beef calf every year for pet day, he would be like a friend and since i reared him he was always in alot better condition than his brothers and sisters. Would be killed and put in the freezer when he was big enough. YUM my calves when grown up had the tastiest steaks  and dont get me started on the pet lambs and pigs and trout and chickens etc... mmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it we even used to put a salt lick for cows at back of the farm next to the bush, deer used to always come for the salt and end up in the freezer. aswell as place our dead calves etc at back of farm as bait for the wild pigs each to their own, no1s right or wrong
  14. i had this problem in my 4 footer with 1m 2 f jewels (nothing else) lots of rocks etc, no matter what i did male always fought with females almost killing them several times, he eventually succeeded when i went away for a weekend so i gave up on the jewels
  15. mmmmm dinner  im gunna go floundering this weekend, havnt had a feed of flounder in aaaages looks like would be a choice pet aswell
  16. +1 for black background/substrate looks awesome and really brings out the fishes colours. have black sand and black background for my 4 foot african and looks AWESOME.
  17. Gurnard fillets mmmmmmmm Live fish: Jewel Cichlids Demasoni Fundulopanchax sjostedti/king killies
  18. Jewels were the previous occupants of the 2 footer, loved them to bits however the male decided to keep killing his females. even put the male and 2 females in their own 4 footer and the male still killed more females so decided to give up on the jewels. were really amazing fish, just a pity my male was so agressive, maybe if i could find a pair that got along well id have a go at jewels again
  19. think it depends on their temperment, a friend has 2 (unsure on sex) in his community tank and they get along fine. i had 3 jewels only in my 4 footer and ended up that the male killed the 2 females very neat fish though, they were my favs. id get more if i didnt have a bad experience with mine
  20. i have thought about that, however all my tanks are in my bedroom, id prefer they are full of fish/water etc. and personally am not really into a small community tank/plants etc i was hoping a pair of convicts in my 2 footer would be fine and feed the babies to my other fish....but i guess not back to the drawing board i guess
  21. Have (sadly) got rid of my killie breeding setup and have gone to a big(ish) african setup. have always wanted some king killies and now i have 2 spare tanks am considering setting up a display tank for some SJO's Will eventually try breeding them but as i remember when Alan Wakelin showed me around his fishrooms he said they were rather hard to breed but im always keen to give it a go can people please post up some pics of their SJO breeding/display setups to give me some ideas of what i should do. i do not really want to have a bare tank thanks alot
  22. i was just thinking of useing the babies as feeders already have my 4 foot african setup and my old 2 footer is sitting doing nothing. cannot really justify having 2 display tanks so a feeder breeding tank seems like a better option
  23. would a 2 footer be ok for say a pair of convicts? just thinking what i should do with my spare 2 footer
  24. purchased another ph test kit today ranging from 6.4-7.4, tested tank at lunch time and both my kits said ph was 7.4. guess i can relax now
