  1. the employment court fixes these problems My first step would be to make sure he has a case. The easiest way is to contact the department of labour for their advise. Be aware that with the swift action they have taken means that they did want to get rid of him for a reason of some sort and if reinstated, they still will not be happy with him. I have been involved with a few of these from both sides although I was not involved directly, I was asked to be support/witness for an employee and twice as a witness for an employer. I also think that its important to think about wether he wants to be part of a company that simply dose not want him. If he dosnt, then maybe he can negotiate his final pay. On the reference side of things, he is legally entitled to a reference and I would recomend that he ask for one regardless of what they put in it as that may well be an important part of his case against him. What they (employer) put in it must be factual but if hes been dismissed, they will start offering opinuns and that will help as well.
  2. that would be in an idealistic world and that is make belive If some one was to invest the time and money (as you can if you would like?) and get these into the country at possibly an investment of $50000 minimum then sell off the pairs at a "fair" price it would be the first and last time they did it In an idealistic work we should all grow our own food an share with others but it simply does not work Black listed from a club? For the effort of making these available, they should be made life members as they have made an investment that every other person has been too lazy or was not prepare to put their money on the line for. Think about it from the soccer in Wellington where a guy bank rolled the Phenix franchise for a huge loss and with his help, NZ has made the world cup. Here in Auckland, no-one did it and soccer was going down hill. Yes for a few years? possibly this person may well only sell males but surley they would be entitled to get their money back? if for no other reason than to finance their next import of another rear/wanted fish

    Silicone?

you can use steelo pads as well I mean steelo, not the brass ones. The steel wool is fine enough to not damage the glass. I take it that your tank will be empty? if thats the case, I would use the soap impregnated steelos but make sure you remove all the soapy water afterwards and rinse a few times befor leaving to dry and glueing
  4. bet none of the above comments made much sense and you thought you were dealing with a lot of very strange people didnt you maybe you were rite?
  5. Im guessing that who ever bought these in the beginning got them from a pet shop and were selective in there breeding program... thats our job as breeders Every fish I breed I want to be able to win our shows... if it isnt, they get distroyed. I honestly congratulate you on your breeding program (and those you got your stock from) but they all came in at some stage through an importer and fish shop.... just as mine did way back

  7. yes too much Christmas cake is not good for you...
  8. yea JK Thats a bit unfair I have next to nothing to do with your local Animates and to be fair, as they dont have Killis, rearly buy anything but you cant put all braches into the same basket. I know that I have no problems with either of the two I sometimes visit I know that there are 3 or 4 people in these forums that work for Animates and they pride them selves on what they do. Lets face it, we can make mistakes (all of us) but we all do our best 95% of the time. Ive fort against this thread from day one as it generalised and was unfair to those that have great fish rooms. Im sure there are plenty of people in here that are more than happy with their local Animates
  9. no it wont think of it as a flat chilly bin (poly or course)
  10. if its 300 height, 6mm is OK but yes it should have a brace
  11. I would deal with the carpet and fabric people rather than the furniture retailer if I were you Pleased you understand where I was coming from Whereas $200 may sound great, the $400 may be 3 times better
  12. the person is making almost $800 per week tax free
  13. I agree the TM has changed things What it has done is provided a part time income tax free for those that want a little extra money Personally, I wont buy a thing new off it as there is no back up at all often. TM is greatly effecting a lot of legal bussinesses by supporting illegal tradeing I know a person whos wife gave up her job as she could do far better through TM and now imports all sorts of mainly rubbish that she sells undercutting stores as she has no overheads and pays no tax I question TMs policy in allowing the sale of new products as they are helping people rip off the tax system. I also find it interesting that this guy slags dole bludgers where his wife is doing exactly the same... ripping off the tax payers by not paying tax
  14. 9 times out of 10 cheaper means less quality I have developed a method of glazing double glazed units into timber joinery. Using the methods I have developed, people can expect to get at least 50 years from then where cheaper (less than 10%) will probably last less than 10 years. I am lucky that most people have reconised this as the costs of building means that people are looking harder at what they get for their buck. Be very care full of cheap (and often nasty) Have a close look at how long the product lasts and at the maintence that you need to do. Have a look at how the product works as most of the time we simply look at $$ and not at if its what you really want.
  15. where did all these fish come from in the first place? Petshop/ fish shop I hear you answer You are now taking away there very source that brings fish to you in the first place by selling cheaply I have only got rid of my Killis to people within my club (NZKA) and as long as the fish shops want them, I will continue to stock the shops that are interested rather than sell privately so that others can also have access to them. Everytime you sell a fish, you have potentially made the LFS a little less profitable meaning that they may well close their doors and then where would we all be for getting new specie? After a few years of trying to get one shop interested in Killis, they have finally started stocking them. They are now attempting to get an importer to bring others in. To me as a breeder and addicted Killi addict, this is nothing short of great. Just be careful when selling fish of cheaply as you are competing against the very shops we need for the future of our hobby
  16. preserving glasses and drinking red wine from a bottle I think not
  17. that is a glass not a bottle
  18. your right there is no such thing as a double glazed bottle
  19. chewing is often a sign of wanting to breed When I had show budgies years ago, we would bring them into breeding condition by blocking the hole to the nest boxes up with tea tree. I would use plumbing brackets and put the tea tree through them and screw them to the next box. It only took a couple of days and they were in and nesting whereas before you block the nest off, they simply were not interested
  20. if you can feel the scratches with your finger nail, they are too deep! They can be removed but at a huge cost. How it is done is by polishing off the surface of the glass untill the surface is the same as the scratch. The last scratch I removed took 90 minutes on a shop front at a cost of $110 and that was an easy one as excess was great Replace the glass where needed

    NZ Couriers

most companies have a no carry policy but are willing to carry at owners risk. I think that if something does go wrong, too many people make a issue of the problem and it makes it far easier to simply say no. I use NZ couriers and have never had a problem but in the beginning they were very anti. If I did have a problem, I would say all went well as to be able to use a courier is better than having to drive all over NZ myself In saying that, I have never had a problem. The worst delivery was delivered in the early afternoon the next day. I use 48 hour heat pads just in case.
