  1. I can see by the photos you have just posted that on the corners, one side is slightly higer than the other so that IS your start point No patence = broken glass and cuts to the hand... thats not too bad but the blood makes a mess that needs to be cleaned up
  2. Looking good Zev The eyes show up nicely
  3. Sorry Sam I normally dont come in this forum You can buy a stiff back razor from craft shops. They are the thinest blade that I know of. There is normally a part that you can squeeze a blade in and work from that point. The blade acts a as spredder as well so it may pay to grab a couple of them. I would take as much water from the tank as you can as that relives the presure a bit. Again, if you were willing to risk a trip to the wild west, I would happily do it for you or give you a couple of blades
  4. only a very small amount EJ, we keep our tanks at a similar temp so that shouldnt be too much of a problem. Have you water incubated at all?
  5. when I water incubated them, I used tank water from another unrelated tank in a small container with the same amount of meth blue that I use with egg normally and like you, only the peat that came with the eggs Interesting
  6. I wonder why they took so much longer... or why mine took so little time The water you incubated them in, was that water from the parents tank or from a different source?
  7. good one Ryan Im supprised that they took 3 months though. Mine took 6 weeks? What temp?

Ira If you ever find out where to learn this language, could you please also let me know. I refuse to answer some of the messages I get by text as I know I will miss-read them At 57, I'm far too old to learn some alien language
  10. my first contact with sea monkeys was on the back of comics about 50 years ago I got them twice and they were brine shrimp eggs Great food for the fish (I feed at least once a day) and cheap as well if you buy the tins. Keep then (the tins) in the fridge for the best results then hatch at 24 to 28 cel. 24 to 36 hours is best for gathering and feeding. Its very important to keep plenty of movement in the sea water so I have a naked air hose bubbling quickly at the bottom of the bottles
  11. Rockets are only 1.5mm long and really slow to grow
  12. She also has Dagei The clowns/Rockets are very very small so I would doupt that its them, If the eyes are shiny they will probably be Nomani Of the 3 of those, they would be the largest
  13. Aqua These are the 3 Im suggesting and I havnt got a photo of the Nomani but the Clown or Rocket killi that Omnix mentioned is
  14. Where did you get them from Sam? Both are rear from pet shops
  15. there would be possible 10,000 diferent killis We have about 25 to 30 here in NZ but more turn up from time to time As with most fish, the larger see the smaller as food so larger types would not be advised with things like neons. Fish like Striatum, Australe and Biteatiatum (I know the spelling will be wrong on that but as Im at work, I dont have my books here) should be fine. One would not be advisable as you simply would not see it but a few should hang out together and be fine. Killi fish are no more agressive than other fish that will eat live food. What gives them a bad rap is the name Most are jumpers so you need a covered tank and to have the lid tight fitting but in saying that, I doupt that I would loose more than 2 or 3 per year total from all my tanks.
  16. from a glass merchants point of view, you cant do it but there will be plenty on here that will say that with a copper pipe and carboundum paste, you can do it. They will be correct It will take hours and there is at least a 50/50 chance of breaking but they will be correct, it can be done I wouldnt
  17. have a look at this site http://www.aquatic-photography.com Histro uses a 350d Spend a few hours in there looking and you cant help but to be hooked
  18. next thing is a remote flash so you can mount it above the fish My next buy
  19. the recomendations dont make a difference in this case Mark you are also correct with what we can get away with When young and stupid, we could get away with being drunk and driving many years ago My wife dives at 55 to 60 and gets away with it.... untill today when she has got a ticket for 58km still not the correct thing to do
  20. correct David I agree with over kill as I have seen many kids badly cut by tanks with less strength You are right though in that tanks made from far less may well be great for many years but they are under stress all the time and therefore they take less to break. When they do break the force of water creates missiles of the broken glass and the damage to flesh can be bad. Simply put, its up to the person buying to be happy with the risk factor
  21. the Glass merchants assoc recomends a base of 15mm and sides(long) of 12mm
  22. have you got the standard 18- 55 lens?
  23. will look in the Glass Merchants Assoc tomorrow and get back to you
