  2. just realised no one has answered! looks like there is no ventilation? If it were myself I would put mesh inserts and also a fan.
  3. is that a second tortoise in the last picture?
  4. wow!! is the glass a full view of under water as well?
  5. are they quite rare that colour or have I just not seen one before?
  6. that is why you have a person on front of store, in saying that though I have been in shops where I have been greeted by a few different staff members, I don't leave thinking how bad they are, I always feel great that they were so friendly, there is a line where it can become pushy if you just ask if you can help, but if you greet someone with a hello and a smile they will usually be more inclined to ask for help because it makes them more comfortable. one of the parts to my position is finding good staff, I am always on the look out for someone special, I can tell you if someone doesn't greet me when I enter a store they wouldn't get a second look. Check out stores like Bunnings and Mitre 10, very competitive market and always someone on the door greeting all customers.
  7. I manage a medium sized company and if a customer came in and was not greeted I would be asking why not, you can give the customer time to look but a greeting on arrival is just good manners.
  8. i've just finished feeding live locusts to my axies, they were going nuts!! what are other people are feeding theirs?
  9. I have mentioned this before on the forum, i had some other problem at the time with them but posted my feelings about the initial greetinfg etc, partly to make them aware of it as on and off I had been visiting them for over 20 years and thought it might wake them up, they actually pm'd me to sort the actual problem I had which was great and I have visited since but still get the same feeling so find myself spending my my time and money else where, it is a shame. The funny thing is I love the Albany store, very freindly and helpful!
  10. why is it turning green? Is it in direct sunlight? What filter are you using?
  11. whistling tree frogs are awesome, I never get tired of watching mine. Nice pics
  12. how far down do they dig? Are mine old enough?
  13. yeah lots of sun, I only have dirt and mulch down and the females are only 3-4 years old so don't know if old enough? should i dig in some sand?
  14. hmmm I am wanting to come down and visit, I was hoping mine might give me some eggs, I just would like to have something lay and hatch to see if I can get the process right, not sure if I want any more additions though at the moment I will let you know. thanks
  15. Hi all, just wondering at what time do Red Ears in outside ponds start breeding and laying?
  16. looks a bit like a lumpy back and a faint stripe down the back, thick head too. pity the pics not a bit bigger. I'm thinking Raniformis too! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... formis.jpg Check the link
  17. I tried locusts a while back, had to give them to the beardie after a few days sitting on the blue tongues heads hanging out 8) all I do for the blue tongues is give snails out of the garden( make sure there is no snail bait around), collect heaps on a night like this, also give them mealworms once and a while. Mainly they eat a varied diet of vegetables, egg, dog food, weeds from the garden and vitamin/calcium supplements. This is whty they are a great reptile to start with.
  18. why do you need to breed insects for blue tongues?
  19. wow thats awesome guys, it will be great to see some rockwork in the dragon enclosure
  20. I agree Mince, I have seen heaps of adults for sale on TM lately, I think it is wrong taking anything from the wild and keeping it let alone selling it for profit!
