  1. ahh so we do have koalas, we call those oposums back home
  2. Didn't think we had Koalas here, they should be safe up the trees, our mice/Bilbies/kiore would be a easy meal though...
  3. Thanks guys, so looks light i will be replacing the spotlight on the left with a fan and adding some mesh to the rear ceiling panel. Midday left side of tank sits around22deg, right 30deg and basking spot 42deg, large hide rocks are hollow and have the lowest temperature.. new to reptiles and thought that daily maintenance will provide enough air movement, am probably over paranoid about keeping the heat in , don't want to spend that sort of money to it kill through not knowing the basics. snake is gone, MAF spotted it...
  4. Native eels are brilliant pets, caught mine in a river and within a week it was completely tame, have had it inside with the frog for over a year, can hand feed it but tank has moonlighting so prefer to watch it chase down live guppies at night. its strange in that its vision during the day is crap and fish can swim straight past its nose, he will strike at it but miss, night time is a whole different ball game he's lightning fast and deadly accurate, he will chase fish back and forth at speed, can hear him snapping at them on the surface, fish jumping out of the way..its awesome to watch.. Had a larger eel with him recently but let it go after a week because they didn't get on, when larger eel was in tank I would often find smaller eel sleeping/lying on dry land or at the top of the waterfall for hours on end, so don't recommend keeping different size eels together in a small area..
  5. hey guys, how important is good ventilation? almost ready to buy my first dragon but want the enclosure to be up to scratch, would fitting a computer fan to the ceiling be a good or bad idea..
  6. Thanks MiNcIE, trying again now. From memory plant is Ficus ripens (sp) $2-3 from the Warehouse, grows fast.. can see it a bit clearer on this pic..
  7. Sorry looks like it didn't work, will try again tomorrow after I've had some sleep lol
  8. Hi guys New to this but will give this pic thing a go. Have only the one frog at this stage and presuming he/she is a golden bell! let me know if I'm wrong. Not sure if frogs need the company of other frogs or not but I finally have time to finish tank and get more frogs. . Q. tank is roughly 300lt so what would be a suitable amount, 3-4-6!! will two males fight or should i have more girls than boys, not worried about breeding and have no trouble finding food. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers
