  3. Hi Charlie, Just wondering a few things. Whats your stud fee? Is your dog proven? Does he have a correct mouth? Does he have current eye clearance? Does he have clear patellas? Have you discussed this with the person who breed him, to make sure that its ok you use a dog they bred at stud? Will you send your dog to me or do I have to travel my bitches to you? What health checks will you be making on the bitches? Will you be vetting any of the homes that the pups will be going to? Would you consider white or wholemeal when using this dog over other breads? Just wondering? Navarre
  4. Hi Dixon, I have 2 cultures going. I have one outside in a large tub which has leaf litter on the bottom. Once every now and then I throw in a nana skin or something and teh daphnia comes and goes in winter and summer. The second culture I was given by a good friend in Auckland and I have that in a cold tank in my fish area. Its about 80 l and I have no mulm on the bottom but it dies build up there. I use old fish tank water to "feed" it and every few days I throw in some flake food. I have a light n this tankabout 16 hours a day and I harvest it daily. This is great for winter as they dont die off inside. I use a small fine net which you can dredge with or syphon into. Now and then when I feed my GBAs marow or the such teh left overs go in there 2. I have snails in teh inside tank but wish I didnt as the lay eggs all over the place. Happy to give you a starter if you want one HTH Navarre
  5. dont mind teh thread being hijacked Better plan is ground control for fur and meat. That easy at $105 kilo fur is more expensive than wool per tone. Also 1080 disapears(lol) in h20 thats what we live on as do herps etc Anyway back to topic. Wish I was in AUckland in 2 weeks Pity that they will disappear in teh wild as they are critically listed Also Govt has shares in all sorts thats why Kiwi saver dropped 7 mil when the US housing market fell over. Pity about the archeys tho eh Maybe you could get some for the park LA? Navarre

  8. lol any suggestions Mark? Thanks Broms am awake. I knew that you have to have a C cat to keep Tuataras...lol Native snails...pffft... You could get funding to shift 1500 of them over 6 mths go to the area they are going to strip mine where they are biologially unique shift 1500 in 4 weeks and spend 5 months counting the 15000 that had to be left behind cause of the funding and then go back to your day job. Either way would be great to see you all at the recovery programme fundrasier on the 26th in Christchurch. Let me know if you want the details...Mark Ill accept your apologies in liue of some of that land you were talking about..lol was just wondering outloud really. Thanks anyway Nav

I have a very good book on keeping them and the colour morphs if you would like to borrow it. There are also some good websites around Navarre

  20. Isnt there a saying some where that mis quotes Darwin. You know the one that suggests that the weakest perish and the strongest survive. But the original quotes say that neither the strongest nor the weakest survive only the most adaptable ... I must look that up. Navarre
  21. Well thats a bit nasty throw away filter media. tho as it wasnt running might be saved depending on base of hand lotion water may not do trick of removing it. if its is silicon or petrolium based you may need a solvent of some sort. The chemists on here may be able to help with that. You may need to wipe everything with solvent and then use water. good luck Nav
  22. Navarre

    3ft african tank

Hmm I am not an expert here but I would think that these fish would compete for territory in a tank that small and then it woudl be war. Just a thought Navarre
  23. Hi Mate I am no expert here and I stand to be corrected, but... I would black out the back and sides of your tank. Make sure that your water changes are maintained Put in a breeding cone or red brick /flower pot or something for them to spawn on. and finally keep everything you have got crossed...flat fish arent as easy as they seem but some have great success with them. Navarre
  24. HI There, I might be coming down teh first week of September if that helps Give me a PM Navarre
