  1. I'd agree on sterbai cory
  2. A friend of mine had a sleeping mat under a 3ft for years & it was fine.
  3. Yay, so exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's tanks. Hopefully weather is nice for the bbq. If not, I have plenty of space indoors too.
  4. Ohhhhh, those big fish look like they're gonna beat up the little fish
  5. White spot is different from fungi. It is little white dots that look like salt grains. So if your plec has white patches, white spot treatment won't help.
  6. I have a Toshiba Gigbeat & it's great. At the time I bought it, it was $100 cheaper than the latest Ipod but had better features! Photo viewer etc. I had 3 separate people tell me they thought it was better than their Ipods. It can use a range of software. If you don't like the program that it comes with, it works with Windows Media Player. With Ipods, you're really paying for the brand, not necessarily a better machine.
  7. If you read the article, you would know.
  8. Title says it all. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/11/photogalleries/catfish-pictures/index.html
  9. You obviously failed English, lmao

    ID please

Probably stress from being bagged and moved. It should colour up in a few days once it's gotten used to the new tank.
  11. Sorry, I meant my past frogs. Not meant to be an apostrophe in there!
  12. Damn that's a fancy tank. My frog's got a $10 payless plastics job.
  13. Whoa, Shangsun is sooooo cute. I want one.
  14. I remember seeing on the news a few years ago, the Auckland council was having a lot of trouble with Chinese people taking ducks, eels, fish, plants etc from public parks. Thus the sign is needed in both English and Chinese. I can't stand people who cry racism at the drop of a hat. Get over it!
  15. Here's my Fighty Boy with the beginnings of either fin rot or a bacterial infection. You can just see the white starting to take hold. Also his tail fin is split in 2, with some smaller splits as well. Good thing I didn't post something smartass like "My fish don't get sick" eh?
  16. Golden algae eaters & the like can be grouchy. They'll sometimes chase other fish. Bristlenoses would be fine though, they only chase each other.
  17. These look really cool, good idea. I'm definitely going to try to make a few. When I stop being lazy.
  18. You assume that people actually have the initiative to check for an article?? Good work though!
  19. There is at least one member of this forums who works at Animates. He is very clued up and has his own fish and knows perfectly well how to take care of them!
  20. No use Hans, I posted on one of their earlier auctions and in reply they said "Yes I am well aware of the chytrid fungal disease and I wouldnt sell my tadpoles if their parents had the disease. Thankyou for your concern" But from what I understand, some frogs can carry it without any signs?
  21. They like to burrow under the substrate and you may or may not see them ever again. You'll know they're there though, 'cos they keep uprooting the plants.
  22. There's someone selling frogs on trademe who is recommending people let them go into the wild!!!
  23. SPCA don't seem to care so much about fish. I've heard of people complaining about that poor giant gourami at Critter Kingdom on Stanmore road, but it's still in the too-small tank.
  24. Bettas are happier at a temp of 29 degress anyway. 25 is lower than they would like.
  25. Lol, I can nominate Mr Hoppy (my Hoplo catfish) for that show too. Silly little fattycake.
