  1. Hi, have been reading your post re the tiger lotus, absolutely amazing story that you have documented. It is truely fascinating... Its so unreal, I have never seen anything like it before.
  2. I agree and that was only 1 of many red cap tanks, I was quite in ore
  3. yea it baffles me on how they keep so many fish in each tank and still have enough oxygen... heres a question for you experts, i have an oranda and his head growth is covering his guys so he cant really see anymore. I heard you can snip away at the wren? is this true?
  4. Funny, they are only overstocked when they are for sale...
  5. Yes the Goldfish market fulls up a street in Mongkok, you take the MTR to the Mongkok station then go out exit b2, its easy to find and yes its next to the ladies market. There are probably around 100 goldfish shops on the street and down the alley ways. Truely amazing place, I just wish I could have bought the bloodline back
  6. Yes its quite amazing, those big orandas where only 2 years old and cost $60 nz, they were hugggge. Its amazing how they bag up those tropicals and leave them like that all day.
  7. Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 8:13 pm Post subject: GOLDFISH MARKETS in HONG KONG -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Guys, Just come back from a trip to Hong Kong and visited the goldfish markets, this is a whole street of Goldfish, Arros, Discus etc. What the amazing thing is the amount of beautiful orandas and the prices they go for. Some of them are huge with bodies upto 20cm long with huge heads. One of the pics has all these Red Cap Orandas and they are $4.50nz and on TM they would sell for $250+. If only you could import them...haha. Anyways enjoy and post any comments I will be happy to answer. Absolutely amazing... http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn61/clintrockevans/390_9068_1.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn61/clintrockevans/390_9064_1.jpg
  8. Does anyone know where I can get a whole heap of weed for my pond in the wellington area?
  9. I have this other problem, I have this 300 litre tank and I have a pair of bristlenose which just constantly breed and I now have 50 1cm babies everywhere and in the cave another which looks like 50+ are on the way. My question is besides stating the obvious what will happen if they are kept with Clowns and other community fish, will they be ok and will they use up all the oxygen and make the other fish suffer? Any advice? Im guessing my choices would be to sell/give them away them off of get "another" tank
  10. But the thing is my other tank has white pebbles and thats fine. its really patchy and uneven, just like in tennis ball size blobs???
  11. Hi Guys, Just need some help, I have set up a new 550 litre tank about 4 weeks ago and have cycled the water through. But I have this problem, I have white pebbles at the bottom and after every few days they start getting like this flouro green on top of the stones, it doesnt look like algae its a very strange looking thing. Does anyone know what this could be? Ok I dont think its the fish, but I have 3 Discus, 3 Bristlenose and about 50 Neons, would these effect the tank? Also I have Val and java fern. Its running on an Eleim 2226 filter and has a double light going 8 hours a day? HELP please
  12. Thanks guys, I cant seem to get a picture, they keep on moving and I cant catch it. I might just put some white spot treatment in and see how it goes. Thanks guys.....
  13. Hi, I have a real problem with Pond algae its like that stringy stuff? I have used that liquid Barley Stuff and also Florish excel to try and get rid of it, it just wont go away. Does anyone have any ideas? Its a 5000 litre pond and I have a Biological filter and pump with a 20w UV lamp going 24/7 as well. HELPPPPPP
  14. Not sure if my starlight is sick or if this is normal, on the side of it are a couple of what look like white mouldy patches. It isnt white spot, the spots are quite big, does anyone know what this is?
