  1. Whoops - forgot my manners  Thanks Caryl for all your hard work with both books and the membership cards. They all look great
  2. Have you capitated Phoenix44? or failing that, has your club?
  3. Have they been like this since the 'swords' issue? Did you ever see the swords nipping at them?

What plants do you have? I read somewhere (on here I think a couple of weeks ago) that if you leave the lights off for a couple of days and then turn them back on again growth restarts. I tried it and wow - my tiger lotus shot from 40cm to nearly 60cm in two days
  5. Slightly green tinge could be too much light. Is it getting natural light on it? As long as it stays 'slightly' its fine but if you wake up and its so green you can't see the fish you will need to block the light out for a couple of days.
  6. ME TOO!!!! :bounce: :bounce: Already read it lol. Then scanned the year book to see who was a member this year that I knew. Now to give those who are not a hard time
  7. Are you talking photos or something else?
  8. How big is your tank ie width, height, length and how big are your angels. Just wondering if perhaps the tank is not deep enough for them so like discus fish do they are lying on their sides
  9. To be honest I don't know anything about angels but is the current too strong for them? Some fish lie on their sides when the current tires them out.
  10. Yes but Sam you get a magazine and if you are nice, discounts at some of the LFS here in Auckland. And, of course, you get the pleasure of my company    and others at the meetings.
  11. I just think that those fry of yours are very precious and may become more so. If they are anything like Jennifers then not a lot of people have had the adults breed.
  12. will the babies be alright with all the additives to their tank water?
  13. What sized tank do you have for them?
  14. Yes thats what my algae does - no T5 lights for a couple of days, just 1 T8 and it disappears but the moment the T5 comes back on, off it goes again. So I've decided that because I want the lights and the plant growth I'll put up with the trimming 2-3 times a week and just keep cutting it off the plants
  15. yes we still could - I just won't trim my tank for a week
  16. Green - its looking very green! I like both the pics - the top one looks like a green mist has descended into the tank and has drapped itself over the plants.
  17. Well, after going on for months about needing CO2 and then finding out my husband had a CO2 cylinder (full) sitting at his work and borrowing that I came home on Friday to find out he had purchased a CO2 cylinder for me - Size D. Yay I am soooo lucky. It should run for a very long time. My plants grow so well now I have to give them a decent hair cut every few days.
  18. Whiptails are not recommended for discus tanks because of this tendency.
  19. Theres never any harm in asking advertisers if they will put a buy now on. I've missed out several time because I haven't asked and then looked an hour later to find out its been sold because someone else did.
  20. I've just sent you a pm. If you are not sure how to access it look at the top left of this page by the log in. It will show 1 new message. Just click on it.
  21. Oh Barrie - so sorry to hear all the horrible things that have happened.
  22. Welcome. My sister in law and family have just moved up Henderson Valley and they love it.
  23. 59.9 litres filled to the brim with no substrate. You will need an adaptor for that heater. IMO not overly cheap for a used tank that size if you are going to get another heater. You could ask if they would sell just the tank and for what price
  24. You can purchase testing kits which test for a variety of things ie pH, ammonia etc or you can purchase them separately. Unless you are trying to breed a particular type of fish then you won't have to have a pH test kit. However ammonia, nitrate and nitrite are very valuable to have on hand. Where abouts in the country are you located?
