  1. well - a month on and I still have about 100. Not a huge difference as yet between the growth rate of these guys and normal fighters although there are more bigger ones in the giants tank. Have lost a few in the last 4-5 days as they have started coming up for air, mostly the bigger sized ones as well. Mum and dad spawned again yesterday but this time in the 250 litre planted tank which also houses growing kribs and other fish. There won't be any survive in this batch as the moment dad chases one krib away another comes in from a different direction. I'll put them in another tank in a few weeks and let them spawn again. The male still won't tolerate any other female!
  2. Not sure where that shop is - The Hub? Are those fish eatable? Our previous tenants (several times removed) used to own one of the foodcourt shops out there. We had a complaint from them about a leak in the bathroom. The plumber we called out there duly reported that it was the eels in the bath splashing!!
  3. To share it all you need to do is go to the image tag and copy and paste the link
  4. I think your caves are that size Josh. They came from the same person .
  5. They've come out of a community tank hence the condition I suspect. Tasty leftovers from the others in the tank. I agree - they do need to lose some weight. I didn't realise how plump they were until I caught them.
  6. Never been ever ever fed bloodworms - tetra bits, shrimp pellets and plec tabs.
  7. save the image then upload it to imageshack/photobucket and use the link they provide
  8. I so hope its eggs as well Josh. Given that they have been in a tank with heaps of other fish for at least 7 months they may relish the opportunity to be alone. Good luck.
  9. Congratulations and best wishes for a wonderful, long and happy life together. My 29th wedding anniversary is at the end of November!
  10. nice! Your java fern and anubias look good and healthy
  11. I had the same thing happen to a big male breeding krib once. The moment I put the net in he turned belly up. 2 hours later he was absolutely fine.
  12. I can give you a lift down if you need one
  13. I'm also wanting to attend! Just for the day though. Am I too late?
  14. I would be suspicious too. The only overseas company I deal directly with is Alabama Aquatics. I get spam from a place because one person on this site passed on my email addy
  15. Yes they are cute. I've had to put some mesh over my filter intake as I was worried they might end up sucked up the filter. The tank is right next to the computer so I can keep an eye on them while I'm on here.
  16. I purchased 6 pygmy cory today and have added them to the tank. The kribs chased them a bit but tomorrow the kribs are moving to my 5ft planted tank in the lounge. When I come back from holiday next week I'll stock the tank with some schools of smaller fish.
  17. Think of it this way. Its so much nicer having a fighter that actually swims around in a tank interacting with every one and every thing than one that just hangs in the corner looking half dead. He will be fine. One of mine got itself stuck halfway in and halfway out one of the small holes in the coke bottle. He nearly cut himself in half but keeping the tank clean worked miracles and he's great. All healed and stunning looking.
  18. Kribs are lovely. I haven't bred the wild ones but I have found that with the others I had to remove one parent after spawning.
  19. I've had several spawns at around the 300 -350. Even my half giants are atm at least 100. What it boils down to is that you have to cull them. The majority will be males that will require separating at some stage.
  20. Its not a gm one. There are a few around in the shops at the moment, some of them are pinkish looking as well but are not albinos.
  21. You are very correct! Not all fighters, like humans, like each other. Once they are visible in the nest, and you try to count them, remember there will be probably 3x as many as you can count.
  22. Not true Allister. Other people have absolutely no trouble. I can't keep gold or blue rams, likewise I can't get bristlenose to breed yet can get other harder to spawn fish to reproduce with no problems.
  23. I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with electric blues but maybe they are just not telling.
  24. No ideas - I also, am unable to keep blue rams alive.
