  1. Would you please put my apologies in for the meeting tonight. Despite my desperately wanting to attend I am unable to make it. Enjoy yourself.
  2. If you can use a calculator in exams and know what you are doing then its silly not to. You have to know the process to get the correct result anyway. My daughters Y13 and the only maths she is doing this year is Stats and Modelling.
  3. my daughter has the same calculator and she got y=0x^2+1x-5 try going from main menu into STAT and then putting in x into list 1 (1,2,3,4) and then y into list 2 (5,14,27,44) and then pressing F2 which is CALC and then pressing F3 which is REG and then F3 which is X^2 and it will give you what a,b,c are for y=ax^2+bx+c see how you go with this. Thats how she would do it. She is not sure if it is right though.
  4. are you allowed to use a graphing calculator?
  5. Poor LMCB - I do feel so sorry for you.
  6. No more sleeps to go but I do wish I was asleeps
  7. slimmers cat biscuits now I hope!
  8. Okay - The first look at each of the sites put me off. Too complex to know where to start. This is from someone who has no real knowledge about aquatic plants at all.
  9. Received by email from a grateful FNZAS member - 'Hi Caryl, I would like to thank you and Diane for going out of your way to assist me. I do not have an address for Diane so maybe you can pass on my thanks. It is acts like this that makes the Federation and most clubs so successful.' Well done ladies
  10. I hatch them everyday and also use the decap. I don't find them overly expensive especially when purchased in the larger tins and they go a long way.
  11. I have to check but I would imagine they could be in the post on the day or the day after the payment is received as long as we receive all the necessary information. The info you sent through was excellent.
  12. sent - please check to see if you have received them as sometimes the images are too large for your provider.
  13. I can confirm that the cards for all members whom we have received capitation payments for are in the post as of 3pm today. Thank you Zev for organising the printing and mailing. It is now up to your club secretaries to decide how they wish to distribute the cards and let you know accordingly. If you do not receive one you can contact me (by email not pm as my box is too small) but please ask your secretary first to make sure they are not holding one for you. Please note: We do have some names but no payments so far and these will be posted out as soon as we receive said monies.
  14. Membership cards will be mailed to club secretaries this week. It is up to the club secretary to decide how they will distribute them to their clubs members.
  15. If you became a FNZAS member you would know exactly what was going on. If it was July 2015 would it matter? To me not an iota because it still is happening. Good things take time and they need to be done properly. Its very easy to sit back and criticise in ignorance but another matter to actually come forward and help the few who are working on this. Just a reminder - The FNZAS is manned by volunteers who have families and full time jobs, not to mention a number of the executive who have suffered badly in the Christchurch Earthquakes and are still living with constant reminders of them. My understanding is that you have experience in these matters. Perhaps working together would be of great benefit.
  16. DavidR is a good person to ask about sumps.
  17. yes there is - perhaps try asking in the DIY part of this forum. People paint their backgrounds so there is safe stuff around. I do not know what it is.
  18. Welcome back Aaron. Have wondered how you were getting on and if you still had fish. Hows that hand of yours?
  19. Thermostats on your heaters and timers also help to keep the power bill down. We only have oil column heaters in our house and I purchased thermostats which plug in. They are set at 15 degrees. Its not that cold up here in Auckland most of the winter but people seem to think they need heating on 24/7.
  20. We certainly are and this fact is documented in the FNZAS members only of the forum within the minutes. To make this process faster we could certainly do with more volunteers as it is a massive job and most of us hold multiple positions within the Federation. But the question posed in this thread heading of would you pay is a very good one. In the last year -18 months rarely seen species of fish on the allowed list have come in to the country but people have not been prepared to pay the price asked. Stock left sitting in the shops and on the importers books is not encouraging anyone to bring in anything new and exciting.
  21. I have 9 bolivian rams in a 450 litre tank with discus, ember tetra, pygmy and sterbai cory, bn, plecs, harlequins + others. The only fish they pick on are each other, they never pay any attention to the other fish. You should not have an issue as long as you do not over stock the tank.
