    HRV

Sounds interesting. The lossnay system seems quite good as it use the already warm air insde to heat the fresh air vented in. my DVS is making quite a draft at the mo as i can see the peacock feathers we have in a vase moving around and there is no other movement in the room. Its suposed to cut out when the temp drops, but i think mine is either wired up wrong or faulty as it seems to go nonstop. Just my two cents

    WTB lighthood

Bear with me. My online photo site is done at the moment, dammit. The pics prob arent to helpful as the light is suspended above my tanks at the mo. Will include a pic of anothe singler fixture that i have yet to set up. The lights have had a 3 metre extention cord wired to it as they dint have a cord. Disclaimer I suggest you get someone who know what they are doing to do this as electricity can be lethal. I scrounged around some local electrictians to find some old stye steel reflectors, although you could make one out of wood or something. Pics will follow once picturetrail.com sorts itself out

Hey Deno You can pick up a four foot double fitting from Mitre 10 Mega for about $60 bucks, All you then need is a reflector .(you could make one of these) Thats what I use. Much cheaper than buying the ones at the petshops. Let me know if you want pics of what I use.

    Glass cutters

I am about to make a tank especially setup for my crypt growing project. I just need to get my hands on some more glass( will go visit some local glaziers and scrounge for cheap s/hand stuff.) My question is about glass cutters Is there a best type to get? Ive seen then for a few dollars and seen some for a fair few more dollars. Considering that it prob wont get much use once this project is complete, what do people recommend?
  16. Customs may seize. Not sure what the rules are importing petfood etc.
  17. What sort of price do these go for in the shops? I have never seen them down this way at all but would be keen to get some if anyone knows where from
  18. Sorry guys and gals This weekend is out for me as it is my brothers bday and already have plans. Sorry
  19. was quite big here in Wangas one of my tanks spilled a bit off water. Wasnt loud, it actually made no noise but rolled though and went for a while. The tank that spilled was lenghtways to the quake so water sloshed length ways and over the end. Geos had a fun ride
  20. Very impessive Stella. I have to agree about the comments that the tanks look much better on the vids than the photos. Although once I finally make it down to visit, I will prob be more impressed to see them in person, Cant wait to go on the next fish hunt now. :bounce:
  21. The metabolism of coldwater fish is much slower than tropical, I wouldnt worry to much myself. Think off the times when rivers and streams are in flood(in my area, thats lots and long time at a time) and food is scarce for them. JMO but HTH
  22. My lfs just got a few in. Not cheap @ $75.00 each But they look absolutely awesome.
  23. Bummer dude. I really thought youd get one there. Oh well keep trying
  24. Your thinking of hagfish Yuck fish Although I was reading that both hagfish and Lamprey are not regarded as fish as such. Also Hagfish are only living creature that possess a skull but not a spine. Hagfish slime
