Remember, you need the middle man. What happens when everyone stops buying from the shops...They shut the door. So where do you go when you need the emergency heater or filter etc. Not against buying direct, but remember we need the shops, so support them when you can. I agree with you, just that geos are very slow growers and they are at least half the size of the of the ones in the display tank at wetpets. thought they would be far to immature to try and breed yet. Maybe im wrong.Hoping someone else who keeps (Afrikan)or has kept would have some idea. Will prob just have to wait and see

Im guessing you mean a 380 litre tank, 380 gallon is massive. Get some south american cichlids. Maybe Discus or Severums. And then get lots of schooling Tetas, ie, rummynose, cardinals or my fav tetra, the lemon tetra.

Does anyone know the age/ size of geo surinamensis for beginning to pair up and breed. My larger (obvious) male and a smaller possible female, have dug a hole and are chasing others away. The male is only just starting to show small tail fin extensions.He is about 10-12 cm long and she? is about 8-9 cm long. I havent seen any shimmying or lip locking( assuming they do this ) Would be cool if it was a pair, but in my opinion they are still very young. Anyone able to help here?

Direct the waterflow from the filter to cause surface disturbance. It doesnt like to much movement of water. Do as stated above and make sure you remove every tiny piece you see. It will eventually disappear. Some fish actualy eat it. HTH

Stage 2 The tank for the crypts is now complete. (what a mission, was the first time Ive attempted to make a tank, so excuse the messy silicone,lol) The water is pumped using a 600 litre per hour pond pump.So the water will hav a constant flow. Now that the water test is complete(after a reseal because of a tiny leak) the tank is going to be moved inside. I wish I didnt have to work so I could spend more time doing things I enjoy. to be continued......

Ive never had problems myself. I find if I tell them that I understand that they are not responsible for any deaths etc, they are happy. Post Haste even rang me to say the fish had arrived at the depot and did I want it delivered or do I want to collect. All packages I sent and recieved were well labeled as being live tropical fish. How do you think petstores recieve their stock????? HTH

Skunk loaches get lazy if they learn that flake etc is nice. I have skunks in my planted tanks. they only eat the adult snails.

Question: Does anyone know if its only erothymicin (sp?) is the only effective antibiotic? Or is there other types that work?
