Warren, I have been using Daltons for a couple of years now and what you have stated above has not been the case at all. I have very successful growth and have never had any bubbles form in my substrate. Not saying your wrong, just pointing out that I find the stuff great and will continue to use it.

I transfered no water, and the fish were quaranteed for a few hours in another tank. Me not silly :lol: :lol: . BTW there is a small amount of hair algae in my planted tank anyway.

Too late now. Was pretty ironic really cos earlier today we were talking about overhauling the tank on the weekend. It must not of liked that idea and then spat the dummy. My planted tank is now filled with about 30 guppies and a skunk loach.

I have two small angels in with mine and they seem to be pretty happy, infact the suris seem more calmer with the angels. Suris are genrally bottom dwellers and do best in groups of four or more. They also require plenty of open ground with a fine substrate as as the name Geophagus suggests, they like to sift through the gravel looking for food. They have a tendancy to root around the base of my plants too, luckly the substrate is deep enough that the roots are weel rooted otherwise the plants would have a hard time. They are my second fav cichlid after discus.

so do siamese algae eaters. I found mine yesterday in the middle of the fish room, What amazes me is that it jumped clear of the hanging lights as thats the only way out.

Thats a nice looking setup there adodge. I really miss my discus planted tank.

In my opinion they can only get better. As they are maturing, the red colouration is getting stronger(although it doesnt really sho in the pics) and the irridecent blue on their sides is getting brighter.Cant wait till the males start to show their fin extensions. :lol: :lol:

EEEEEEKKKKKKKK! My brother just can around in a panic saying the heater in his guppy tank is stuck on and cooking his fish. Unfortunately its after 5pm and lfs is closed and my spare heater is being used at the moment on some bettas i was going to try breed. So Ive decided to go over after tea and bring his fish to my place and put in my planted tank. Good excuse to overhaul his tank as it has a bad hair algae problem. Why does this stuff always happen in winter? :lol:

Now for some updated pics The geos are comming along great, starting to show some great colouring(although pics dont do justice) and showing some personality. I have added two small angels to the tank and this seems to have added comfort to the geos as they are out and about more often now. First pic to show how much the plants have grown

Im not Alanmin but I think its a Bacopa of some sort. Is that your plant in the picture? Does it look different growing underwater?
